Over the last five years, I’ve grown incredibly fond of Madelyn Cline as part of the Outer Banks cast, but it looks like she’s preparing to bid farewell to the series in the not-so-distant future. Yet, with her promising acting talent, it seems like she’s just embarking on a stellar career in cinema. Her upcoming horror movie, I Know What You Did Last Summer, is one of the highly anticipated films set for release on the big screen. Prior to that, however, a trailer for her next film following this chilling tale has been released, and I can’t help but get excited about this 2025 movie premiere!
The Map That Leads To You Looks Like A Summer Romance I Need In My Life
In the upcoming movie titled “The Map That Leads To You“, Madelyn Cline stars as Heather, a young woman embarking on an adventurous post-graduate trip across Europe with friends. The first trailer for this film is now available on Amazon Prime and can be viewed above. During their travels, Heather encounters a captivating stranger named Jack, portrayed by KJ Apa from “Riverdale”.
In their travels overseas, it appears that Jack eventually proposes to Heather that she embark with him on a nomadic adventure to many more places than she initially intended. The romantic tension escalates, and Heather decides to join Jack.
The film “The Guide to You” joins the growing roster of book-to-screen adaptations, being adapted from J.P. Monninger’s 2017 novel with the same title. This trailer promises all I desire in a summer romantic flick: picturesque settings, thrilling escapades, and intense emotional turmoil that appears to put both Heather and Jack to the test.

Being a fan of heartwarming romance films, I’m thrilled to include this new release on my viewing list. Its storyline somewhat resembles “Before Sunrise,” and it seems quite some time has passed since a similar movie came out. In essence, the trailer was so compelling that it stirred emotions within me even before watching the film itself.

I’m Living For Madelyn Cline’s Post-Outer Banks Career
I’m thrilled about Madelyn Cline’s upcoming roles outside of “Outer Banks,” as the Netflix series will conclude with its fifth and final season in 2026. While she was on the show, she landed a significant role in “Glass Onion” (2022), but now that she’s no longer tied to the show, her movie career can flourish even more. She’s already made a head start, as evidenced by upcoming projects like “Day Drinker,” where she stars alongside Johnny Depp and Penélope Cruz.
Additionally, after catching a glimpse of the trailer for “I Know What You Did Last Summer”, my anticipation is high for Cline in the upcoming horror sequel that premieres on July 18. The initial footage showcases a more chilling incarnation of The Fisherman, and the movie also includes original franchise members Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. Regardless, I’m already looking forward to “The Map That Leads To You”, which will be available on Prime Video starting August 20.
