We received the newest installment of the Mafia game series earlier this year, and it looks like the story might continue.
Carina Conti, the actress who portrays Isabella Torrisi in the game *Mafia: The Old Country*, has revealed that developers are moving forward with a new installment in the *Mafia* series.
The actor joined a Twitch stream of the game and spent time answering questions from people watching.
I was so thrilled to hear that Hangar 13 got the green light for another Mafia game! Apparently, around the 1:08:35 mark, someone asked about the story and she revealed they were approved to make a sequel – it’s seriously exciting news for any fan like me.
Conti explained that while each Mafia game has its own story, they’re all connected and take place in the same overall world.
Mafia: The Old Country takes players back to Sicily in the early 1900s, a time when organized crime was just beginning to take hold. It features a new story and characters, but also includes familiar faces and themes from other games in the series.
It’s uncertain if Conti is hinting at a direct continuation of ‘Old Country,’ or a brand new story set in the same Mafia world. Regardless, it seems like we can expect more content in the future.
Even if a new game gets the green light, that doesn’t guarantee it will actually be released – games get cancelled frequently for various reasons. We’re hoping this one isn’t cancelled, but it’s a possibility since it seems to be in the very early stages of development.
So, what are your thoughts? Would you be interested in a new Mafia game down the line? And if so, would you prefer it to be set in the past, or in a more contemporary setting? Let us know in the comments!
