The report additionally highlights that the initial triumph of the game is beneficial for the Mafia brand overall and for solo, storyline-focused games, which are increasingly popular among developers aiming to create the next major multiplayer sensation.

“According to Sensor Tower, strong initial sales suggest that the ‘Mafia’ brand remains popular and supports the studio’s decision to offer a story-driven, cinematic game experience. The game’s success on PlayStation may be due to the console’s focus on narrative-rich single-player games.

Mafia: The Old Country” marks a new era for Hangar 13 as it is the studio’s first title using Unreal Engine 5, instead of its in-house engine, and an interview from July features discussions between studio president Nick Baynes and game director Alex Cox about their reasons for making the switch.)

Cox stated, “Unreal Engine, as most gamers know, significantly enhances new games, providing outstanding visuals especially.
