Mafia: The Old Country’s Surprise Free DLC Adds First-Person Mode and More

A free update is coming to Mafia: The Old Country, adding features like a photo mode and first-person perspective, along with other improvements. Released in 2025, Mafia: The Old Country has been a surprising success, though it differs significantly from previous games in the series. Instead of the familiar urban setting, this installment takes place in Italy in the early 1900s and focuses on a more personal and character-driven story. This approach earned the game critical acclaim and strong sales.

Even though most new games cost $70, Mafia: The Old Country was released for just $49.99. This lower price likely helped the game become a commercial success, surpassing sales expectations for its publisher, Take-Two Interactive. As a thank you, fans who supported the game are now receiving a special reward.

Mafia: The Old Country Gets Massive Free New Update

On November 20th, a free update is coming to Mafia: The Old Country! The biggest addition is Free Ride mode, letting you freely explore the game world. You’ll also find new challenges and activities to keep things interesting. While the game isn’t fully open-world, this update gives you a great reason to revisit it.

Get ready! The FREE RIDE update arrives tomorrow in Mafia: The Old Country. All players will get a first look at the exciting new content coming to Valle Dorata – and it’s completely free!

The latest update lets you compete in car and horse races, as well as take on combat challenges where you can put the game’s weapons to good use. You’ll also find 3 new guns, 4 knives, 2 cars, 3 charms, and 16 new outfits. By completing these challenges, you’ll earn in-game currency to unlock these items, which can also be used throughout the main storyline.

I’m really excited about the updates coming to Mafia: The Old Country! They’re adding a photo mode, which I’ve been wanting, and a first-person driving mode so you can really get into the feel of the cars and appreciate how detailed they are. Plus, they’re including a cool black and white mode to make it look like an old movie, and you can even change the weather! If you’re looking for a challenge, there’s a new, harder difficulty setting too. It’s awesome that all this is free – that’s something I always appreciate from developers.
