I’m so excited! Wales Interactive just announced Maid of Sker VR! It’s a virtual reality version of their awesome survival horror game, Maid of Sker, and it’s coming to PlayStation VR2, SteamVR, and Quest. The best part? It’s launching in November!
Here is an overview of the game, via Wales Interactive:
About
Brave the nightmares of the Quiet Ones. Do not panic… don’t even breathe!
Maid of Sker VR is a scary survival horror game played from a first-person perspective. The game takes place in a secluded hotel with a dark and disturbing past rooted in Welsh legends. You’re equipped with only a tool to protect yourself using sound, and you’ll need to rely on sneaking and hiding to survive against enemies controlled by artificial intelligence that react to sound.
This story, taking place in 1898, draws inspiration from the chilling Welsh legend of Elisabeth Williams. It centers on a family’s powerful empire built on cruelty-through torture, slavery, and piracy-and a mysterious, otherworldly force that seems to overwhelm the hotel’s very foundations.
Key Features
- 3D sound-based AI system as the core survival mechanic.
- A chilling story inspired by Welsh folklore fusing psychological, gothic, and British horror.
- Re-imagining of famous Welsh hymns Calon Lan (A Pure Heart), Suo-Gân (Welsh Lullaby), and Ar Hyd Y Nos (All Through the Night) from the spine-chilling voice of Tia Kalmaru.
