A popular series in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine has announced it will continue for the foreseeable future, starting a new story arc. This news comes during a period of significant change for the magazine, with several long-running series recently concluding or being cancelled. While many of the current series seem to be wrapping up their storylines, this particular hit is set to continue its run.
It looked like Kenta Shinohara’s Witch Watch was nearing its conclusion, especially with the growing connection between the two main characters, Nico Wakatsuki and Morihito Otogi. However, the latest chapter reveals the manga will continue! A new story arc, “Witches & Warlocks,” has begun, marking the start of the third and likely final phase of the series. Now that the Warlocks are taking the conflict public, the story is heading in a bold new direction.
What’s Going on With Witch Watch?

Chapter 225 of Witch Watch continues the story of Nico and Morihito as their new relationship begins. They’re keeping things private for now because they’re still fighting against the Warlocks, and the conflict has become more dangerous. Meanwhile, a popular streamer named Dorey, who has eight million followers, starts a live broadcast with over a million viewers. It’s revealed that he’s been using his stream to spread a curse from the Warlocks to everyone watching.
Dorey unexpectedly reveals themself as a Warlock, dramatically demonstrating their abilities to the world. They announce the start of a new war, signaling the emergence of a new generation of Warlocks and the beginning of a new phase for Witch Watch. The series has been officially titled “Witch Watch Part 3: Witches & Warlocks,” confirming earlier reports of an extended run in Shonen Jump magazine.
What Does This Mean for Witch Watch’s Future?

The popular manga Witch Watch will continue for a significant amount of time, even as other series by the same creator, like The Elusive Samurai and Sakamoto Days, are nearing their conclusions. While Witch Watch is also entering what appears to be its final story arc, it’s expected to run longer than initially anticipated. However, the events unfolding – specifically, the widespread curse now affecting many people – suggest that a complete resolution and ending are likely inevitable.
The series is heading towards its conclusion, but it’s hard to predict exactly how long it will take to finish. Final story arcs can last anywhere from a few months to a year, so we’ll just have to see how things unfold as the story wraps up.
