Fans can revisit the world of Malcolm in the Middle with a special four-episode event coming to Hulu on April 10th. It’s been 18 years since the original series ended, and most of the original cast is returning! However, a few characters will be played by new actors, most notably Dewey, who will be portrayed by Caleb Ellsworth-Clark after the original actor, Erik Per Sullivan, retired from acting. Keep an eye out – two other familiar faces from Malcolm’s family have also appeared in promotional materials for the revival!
As a big fan of Malcolm in the Middle, I was so excited to see updates on the revival! It’s been revealed who will play Jamie and Kelly, the youngest siblings. Apparently, Jamie will be played by Anthony Timpano, and Kelly will be played by Vaughan Murrae. In the original finale, we found out Lois was expecting a daughter, Kelly, making six kids total! The new photos show Jamie and Kelly looking a little shocked while sitting next to Reese, and it’s great to finally get a glimpse of them!
Malcolm’s No Longer in The Middle
Malcolm has always felt different from his boisterous family, largely because he’s exceptionally bright. At the end of the previous series, his mother, Lois, admitted she pushed him harder than his brothers because she had high expectations for his future – she even thought he could become President! The new trailer for ‘Life’s Still Unfair’ shows that Malcolm hasn’t quite reached the Oval Office yet, but things seem to be going well for him overall.
The upcoming sequel to Malcolm in the Middle will be a four-episode mini-series where Malcolm now has a daughter named Leah. Though she wasn’t featured much in the trailer, the series description suggests Malcolm has been intentionally keeping Leah distanced from his parents, Hal and Lois, for over a decade. They’re now requesting his presence at their 40th anniversary party, pulling him back into the family fold. Currently, this mini-series is the only planned continuation of the Malcolm in the Middle story, but it leaves fans wondering if it could lead to more adventures for Malcolm and his family in the future.
