An important DCU actor has confirmed that they’ll be reprising their role in Man of Tomorrow.
James Gunn’s next DC movie, currently known as ‘Man of Tomorrow’, will continue the story started in the 2025 ‘Superman’ film. David Corenswet will once again play Superman, and Nicholas Hoult will return as his iconic enemy, Lex Luthor.
Who has confirmed they’re in Man of Tomorrow?
Now, Rick Flag Sr. actor Frank Grillo has confirmed that he’ll also be starring in Man of Tomorrow.
Many fans expected Joel Kinnaman’s Rick Flag Sr. to reappear in Superman: Man of Tomorrow, especially after comments made by James Gunn. Gunn told Brandon Davis on the Phase Hero’s Peacemaker Podcast that Rick Flag Sr. is a character who could easily show up in different stories.
He also mentioned that Peacemaker Season 2 isn’t the conclusion of the DC Universe storyline, hinting at a surprising team-up between characters – specifically, Flag and Lex Luthor.
Grillo recently confirmed on Instagram that he will appear in the movie Man of Tomorrow. He shared a post on his Instagram Story featuring an article from The Direct about the film.
It’s still unclear how significant a part Marco Grillo will play in the upcoming “Man of Tomorrow” movie, as details about the plot are being kept secret. We know Superman and Lex Luthor will be forced to team up to face a major new threat, which many believe will be Brainiac, though James Gunn hasn’t confirmed this. The finale of “Peacemaker” Season 2 also introduced plot points about Salvation and Checkmate, and it’s currently unknown whether “Man of Tomorrow” will explore those storylines or if they’ll be used in a different DC Universe project.
Man of Tomorrow will be released on July 9, 2027.
