The creator of popular, short-form management games like Game Dev Story, based in Tokyo, has revealed their next project for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. This new game is based on the popular and long-running manga series, KochiKame.
The developer isn’t venturing into unfamiliar ground with this release. They recently launched a strategy simulation game based on Doraemon, making KochiKame a logical next step for the studio.
In KochiKame: Ryo-san’s Billion-Yen Beat, you’ll follow Officer Ryotsu Kankichi as he tries to save a failing shopping street and become a billionaire.

If you haven’t read it before, the KochiKame manga was a long-running series, published for 40 years from 1976 to 2016. It ultimately contained 201 volumes and follows the comical experiences of a police officer.
Here’s a little more about how the gameplay will be structured:
Begin by saving up some initial funds through gambling and odd jobs. Then, build successful businesses in the shopping area. As the area becomes popular, you’ll attract more customers and earn more money – just be careful not to get caught by the Chief if you’re not working!
The adaptation will include beloved characters and key plot points from the original manga.
We don’t know when it will be released yet, but the trailer above gives you a preview of what it’s like.
