Mandy Moore‘s friendship with Hilary Duff is what dreams are made of.
The actress, known for her role in This Is Us, talked about her close and understandable connection with Hilary Duff, as they both experience the joys and challenges of being mothers.
Mandy recently told Glamour magazine how grateful she is that her children spend time with people who share her family’s values. She also shared that some of her closest and most meaningful friendships as an adult have come through connections she’s made since becoming a parent.
The 41-year-old, who shares three children – August, 4, Oscar, 3, and Louise, 16 months – with her husband Taylor Goldsmith, has observed Hilary’s growth, particularly within their sometimes-disputed mothers’ group.
She’s incredibly impressed by Hilary Duff, who has four children: Banks, age 7, Mae, age 4, Townes, who is 21 months old, with her husband Matthew Koma, and Luca, age 13, from her previous marriage to Mike Comrie.
Mandy shared that she’s deeply impressed by this woman, both as a gifted performer and a devoted mother. She finds it truly inspiring how well she manages everything.
She explained that Hilary has finally discovered a method that suits her well, and she believes it’s a fantastic example of how anyone can achieve a healthy work-life balance.
Hilary Duff is thankful for her friends as she prepares to release her first album in over ten years, Luck… or Something. She explained that working in the music industry can be a lonely experience.
Although the 38-year-old woman enjoyed her mom group, which includes Meghan Trainor, former member Ashley Tisdale claims her experience was quite different.
Last month, in an essay for The Cut, the High School Musical star opened up about a difficult experience with a group of mom friends. She explained that she eventually distanced herself because she often felt excluded. While she didn’t mention any names, she had previously spoken about spending time with other celebrity mothers. She shares two children with her husband, Christopher French: Jupiter, age 4, and Emerson, 17 months old.

Eventually, Ashley told the other mothers she was no longer comfortable with the situation, explaining it felt like high school drama and she wanted out.
Hilary hasn’t publicly shared what she thinks about the Frenshe founder’s statements, but Mandy explained how their friend group originally formed.
During a recent appearance on the Conversations With Cam podcast, actress Mandy Moore shared that she believes the surge in births during the pandemic led to her having a baby. She also mentioned a close friendship with Hilary Duff and her husband, Matt, noting that they are good friends with her and her husband, Taylor.
Mandy remembered Hilary saying they really needed a music class and a stronger sense of community. Hilary started the class at her home, bringing together a wonderful group of women. Mandy also invited some friends to join, and the group eventually expanded from music to include movement and just spending time together.
Even with all the issues surrounding Ashley, Mandy and Hilary have stayed close friends. They’re not alone, though – many celebrities have had public disagreements with former friends. Here are some other famous celebrity feuds.

In January 2024, Bobby addressed speculation about a disagreement with Tan, following his announcement in November 2023 that he was leaving Queer Eye after eight seasons. (Bobby is pictured second from left.)
He assured Vanity Fair that he and Tan are doing okay. He explained they had a private matter to resolve, separate from the show, and emphasized it wasn’t a romantic issue—it was a personal disagreement that had been building up.
In March 2024, Tan addressed claims that he tried to get his friend Jeremiah Brent to replace Bobby on the show Queer Eye.
Netflix and the production team held extensive auditions. I didn’t recommend my friend for the role, but they ultimately landed it because they were the most qualified. I also want to be clear that I didn’t help them get the part by having anyone else removed from consideration, as he explained on Instagram.

During a September 2023 game of “Stir the Pot” with her daughter, Kelly Osbourne, on TopMob News, Sharon Osbourne revealed that she considered Danny Masterson, of “That ’70s Show” fame, to be the rudest celebrity she’d ever encountered. She described him as a consistently impolite and unpleasant person.
He did not respond to her remarks publicly.
Five years ago, Sharon shared with Larry King that Ashton seemed upset when he was on The Talk in 2014, after she mispronounced his name.
She remembered him asking, “Who are you and what have you accomplished in this business?” She responded sharply, telling him, “Don’t mess with me, because I’ll destroy you.” She finished by saying, “You have no idea who you’re talking to.”

In August 2022, Cassadee Pope and Maren Morris publicly disagreed with Brittany Aldean, wife of country singer Jason Aldean, after Brittany posted a video on Instagram. In the video, posted on August 23rd, she thanked her parents for not allowing her to transition during a phase where she preferred traditionally masculine interests, stating she enjoys a feminine lifestyle.

In a 2022 TikTok trend, JoJo Siwa called Candace Cameron Bure the “rudest” celebrity she’d met, explaining that Bure once turned down her request for a photo on the red carpet. Soon after, Cameron Bure apologized publicly, saying she regretted hurting Siwa’s feelings when she was younger and admitting, “I feel crummy, I feel—JoJo, I’m so sorry.”
Candace and the other person resolved their differences. However, when asked months later if her network, Great American Family, would ever feature same-sex couples as the main characters in its holiday movies, she said it wouldn’t. She explained that the network would continue to focus on traditional marriage.
JoJo, who publicly shared they are part of the LGBTQ+ community in 2021, responded to the actress’ comment on Instagram, calling it “rude and hurtful to an entire community.”

In June 2021, Courtney Love claimed Olivia Rodrigo had copied the album cover art of her band, Hole, for a promotional photo without proper acknowledgement. Olivia responded with a supportive message, saying, “Love u and live through this sooooo much.” Courtney then playfully replied, thanking Olivia and offering to share the contact information for her favorite florist in London, hinting she expected a thank-you note in return.

While on Watch What Happens Live, the Happy Days actor explained the reason for his difficult relationship with the Forrest Gump star while filming the 1989 movie Turner & Hooch.
I directed the movie for thirteen days, and then Jeff Katzenberg, the producer, called me into his office and told me to pack up and go home, saying I had everything I needed.
Winkler and Hanks’ dog seemed to get along very well. “I really loved that dog,” Winkler said.
He also refused to admit if he’s even seen the flick.

“You know what you did!”
Anyone who watched The Hills probably remembers that famous line from Lauren on the third season’s first episode. The drama started when Heidi began dating her future husband, Spencer Pratt, and really exploded when Lauren claimed Heidi and Spencer spread a false rumor about her and Jason Wahler making a sex tape.

Tyrese and Dwayne Johnson had another public disagreement after the release date for Fast & Furious 9 was delayed until April 2020. On the same day, a spin-off movie featuring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham was announced, set to release in 2019. Shortly after, Tyrese said he would leave Fast 9 if Dwayne Johnson was still involved.
As a long-time fan, it was really interesting to hear Tyrese finally talk about what happened with The Rock on the Red Pill podcast with Van Lathan. He said they still haven’t spoken directly – not even once! He did mention he’d talked to someone who works with The Rock on production, but not The Rock himself. It sounds like there’s still a lot to unpack and hopefully they can eventually have that conversation.
Tyrese admitted he shouldn’t have publicly shared frustrations on behalf of others connected to the franchise. He explained he was the one who spoke out, and he takes responsibility for that, calling it unprofessional and inappropriate.

No more bad blood here.
Taylor Swift and Katy Perry were famously feuding for years, with some believing the conflict inspired Taylor’s song “Bad Blood.” The disagreement, which began with issues over a shared backup dancer and rivalry during concert tours, finally ended when Katy sent Taylor an olive branch as a peace offering before Taylor’s Reputation Tour began.
Taylor shared on Instagram that she found a real olive branch in her dressing room, saying it meant a lot to her.
Taylor captioned the video, “Thank you Katy.”

For years, Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker, stars of Sex and the City, dismissed rumors of a disagreement. However, those rumors resurfaced when Kim chose not to participate in a third movie and made some pointed comments about her co-star.
In a September 2017 episode of Watch What Happens Live, Andy Cohen asked Sarah Jessica Parker how she felt about Kim Cattrall telling Piers Morgan they had only ever been coworkers, not friends.
She was deeply upset, explaining she felt heartbroken. They had talked about it all week, and she was really disturbed because her memory of what happened was completely different.
It’s definitely sad, but I believe what truly connects us is the unique experience we all shared. It started as a professional project, but over the years, it became deeply personal. I’m hoping that those years of working on something special, and the connections we built, will ultimately be more important than any recent disagreements. Having the chance to be part of something so meaningful for so long was a real privilege.
And though they didn’t film scenes together, Kim did make a small appearance on And Just Like That.

Elton John and Madonna have been publicly disagreeing since 2004. The conflict began when Elton, while accepting an award at the Q Awards, criticized Madonna’s live performances. He famously told the audience, “Madonna, best live act? That’s ridiculous!” He went on to say that lip-syncing shouldn’t be considered a live performance, and suggested that performers who lip-sync during paid concerts should face serious consequences.

The actress, formerly known for her role on Grey’s Anatomy, caused a disagreement with the show’s creator back in 2008 when she asked to not be considered for an Emmy Award. She explained that she didn’t think the storylines she was given were strong enough to deserve a nomination.
Shonda Rhimes discussed Katherine’s choice in a 2012 interview with Oprah Winfrey on Oprah’s Next Chapter. She admitted it was both hurtful and expected. “When someone consistently reveals their true character, you should believe them,” Rhimes explained. “I’ve really taken that to heart, and it’s helped me a lot.”

Oh my god, I still can’t believe it! It was the moment from New York Fashion Week – when Nicki and Cardi just… went at it at that Harper’s Bazaar party! Everyone was talking about it! And then, a month later, Cardi finally told us what actually started it all. I was glued to every interview, trying to understand everything from her perspective. It was insane!
Look, I’ve been dealing with some negativity from another artist lately. We actually talked it through a couple of times and I thought we were good, but unfortunately, she just kept bringing it up again and again. It’s frustrating when you try to resolve things and it doesn’t stick, you know?
The conflict really escalated when Cardi B noticed Nicki Minaj had seemingly liked, and then unliked, a tweet criticizing Cardi’s skills as a mother. Nicki has stated she didn’t actually interact with the tweet.
Cardi B explained she turned down a potentially hugely profitable Bruno Mars tour because she wanted to be with her daughter. She strongly emphasized her love for her daughter and her dedication as a mother, and expressed frustration that someone without children would criticize her choices. She also pointed out that opportunities to meet artists in casual settings are rare, so she wasn’t going to pass up the chance at the event.

I remember when the drama between Kanye and Taylor first began back in 2009 – it was shocking when he interrupted her VMA acceptance speech! They actually seemed to patch things up and even became friends over the years, which was great to see. But unfortunately, it all fell apart again in 2026 after Kanye released his song “Famous,” where he specifically mentioned Taylor in the lyrics. It was really disappointing to watch their relationship go downhill after that.
Just before the Grammy Awards in February 2025, Kanye West began following only Taylor Swift on Instagram. He didn’t offer any explanation for this action, and Swift hasn’t publicly acknowledged it.

“I don’t know her.”
The supposed rivalry between Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez has been talked about for over 15 years. It began during an interview when Mariah was asked about other singers, and she famously responded to a question about Jennifer Lopez with, “I don’t know her.”
