Mango Markets’ Eisenberg charged with possession of child porn

Avraham Eisenberg, who was convicted of fraud and market manipulation in the $110 million heist from decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol Mango Markets last October, now faces new charges. He’s been accused of possessing child pornography.

In October 2022, Avraham Eisenberg was convicted for committing fraud and manipulating markets in the $110 million theft from DeFi protocol Mango Markets. More recently, he faces new accusations: possession of child pornography.

A court document from April 3, which became available to the public on April 26, claimed that Eisenberg possessed photos of children under the age of 12 who were not yet adolescents.

New claims have emerged following the disclosure in August 2021 of an earlier court document detailing that suspicious images were originally uncovered on Eisenberg’s computers and mobile devices during an initial investigation related to allegations of fraudulent activities and market manipulation.

In a recent legal document, it was claimed that Eisenberg had held child pornographic material between the years 2017 and 2022.

“The defendant knowingly possessed and accessed with intent to view a book, magazine, periodical, film, videotape, computer disk, and other material that contained an image of child pornography that had been mailed, shipped and transported using a means and facility of interstate and foreign commerce and in and affecting interstate and foreign commerce by any means, including by computer.”

This is a developing story, and further information will be added as it becomes available.
