Manuel Turizo was feeling the dopamina while working on “Que Haces.”
The singer discussed how he and Becky G created their new Latin tropical song, revealing they had first talked about collaborating three years ago.
Manuel explained to TopMob News that they’d been brainstorming ideas for a collaboration. ‘It’s hard to find a song that truly resonates with both artists and aligns with a shared creative direction,’ he said. ‘We really wanted to create something together.’
Earlier this year, a friend shared a song Becky had recorded with him, and he was immediately interested in hearing more.
He was incredibly excited, saying he loved the idea. He immediately said, ‘Let’s make it happen, let’s tell her right now!’ Within a week, everything was arranged, and they were getting ready to film the video and finalize all the details.
Manuel and Becky (whose full name is Rebbeca Marie Gomez) were even featured in the music video for the upbeat song, which blended merengue and bachata styles. Reflecting on the experience, Manuel appreciated that they had carefully chosen the perfect track for the video.
He and the singer of “Shower” wanted a song that truly resonated with them, not just one that would be commercially successful.
Manuel explained that he wants to pursue projects that genuinely excite him and that he believes will benefit others.
When collaborating with artists like Becky, 28, the singer of “En Privado” explained that a special connection is key. He stressed the importance of setting aside your own pride and focusing on the music.
He emphasized the importance of authenticity in all things, stating that ultimately, the quality of the music itself is what truly matters.
He explained that when creating music, the focus should be on the song itself, not on personal ownership or credit. He finds it easiest to collaborate in the studio when everyone involved sets aside their ego and works together seamlessly.
That’s how, like Manuel’s past projects, his November 2024 album 201 came to be.
When I’m working on an album, I just let my creativity flow freely. I don’t want to limit myself during the creative process, because whenever you’re in the studio, new ideas always come up.
Okay, so he’s always experimenting, just playing around with different concepts to see what *really* resonates with him, you know? It’s how he creates! And his new song, “Mírame Ahora (Salud Mi Reina)” – which dropped earlier this month, I’ve had it on repeat, obviously – it’s totally the same thing. He was just exploring and finding what felt right, what felt *connected*. It’s amazing to see how he works!
Manuel is embarking on a global tour, called the 201 Tour, starting this June and continuing through February 2026. He’s described it as significantly different from his previous concerts.
He explained that the tour was titled ‘201 – it’s my house,’ referencing the apartment number where he wrote the songs.
He intends to recreate the original creative atmosphere of where everything began when he brings his show to cities across Mexico, the U.S., Spain, France, Colombia, and other locations. He explained that this concept was central to developing the *201* Tour.
Manuel hinted that the tour will feature a set resembling the inside of his house, with all the action taking place within that setting.
