Now that the Cryo Archive update is available in Marathon, Bungie has released a new cinematic trailer. This trailer showcases the Thief Runner Shell, which was one of the first two revealed and has been a popular choice ever since.
This character excels at a careful, strategic playstyle in the game’s fast-paced fights. Using reconnaissance abilities and a companion drone, the Thief easily outmaneuvers enemy robots. The drone also serves as a useful distraction, allowing the Thief to draw opponents into the sights of a sniper rifle – a position made possible by a grappling hook. At least, that’s how the character demonstrates these tactics in the promotional video.
This will likely be very useful for whatever new content Bungie releases in the future. If you’ve struggled against the Thief, this video might remind you of those tough battles. But if you’re skilled at stealth and striking from the shadows, you’ll probably enjoy watching it!
