The initial teaser is out now for the upcoming BBC series, titled Unforgivable. This captivating production boasts a stellar ensemble cast and is penned by renowned screenwriter, Jimmy McGovern.
In the trailer, we meet Joe, portrayed by Bobby Schofield, a character who’s spent time in prison for a horrific act of abuse that he’s now served his term for.
In the institution that provides him a residence and rehabilitation post-release, he can be observed undergoing a therapy session with a character portrayed by Anna Maxwell Martin, who functions as a therapist. Additionally, he encounters his family again after being released.

Alongside the trailer’s release, the BBC has now also confirmed when the drama series will air.
The entire series is set to premiere on BBC iPlayer at 6 am on Thursday, 24th July. Before this, the first episode will be broadcast on BBC Two later in the day.
Besides Schofield and Martin, the show features Anna Friel from Marcella, taking on the role of Joe’s sister Anna. Additionally, it includes Austin Haynes and Fin MaParland as her sons, and David Threlfall portraying her father, Brian.
This version aims to maintain the original meaning while making it more conversational and easier to read.
The television show is produced and shot in Liverpool, and its plot explores the far-reaching consequences of abuse seen through various viewpoints, as well as the struggle of those affected to find a way forward amidst the destruction.
As a cinephile, I must mention the talented ensemble that graces the screen in this film. Among them are Mark Womack, known for his gripping performance in “The Responder,” Paddy Rowan, whose work in “This Town” left an indelible impression, and Phina Oruche, who stole the show in “Magpie Murders.” Each of these actors brings a unique depth to their respective roles, enriching the overall cinematic experience.
