Margot Robbie’s new look is what gothic dreams are made of.
Staying true to her love of vintage styles, the 35-year-old actress made a statement with her sheer outfit at the London premiere of Wuthering Heights on February 4th.
Margot, who plays Catherine alongside Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff in the new film, wore a unique nude-colored dress by Dilara Findikoglu. The sheer gown featured a visible corset and a flowing, ruffled train. She completed the outfit with green, rope-like accessories and kept her jewelry simple.
Margot has been wearing a lot of forest green during her recent promotional appearances, and there’s a clear connection to her new film. The movie, directed by Emerald Fennell and releasing on February 14th, was filmed in a wooded area of England – the same setting that inspired Emily Brontë’s classic novel. Just the day before, on February 4th at a London photoshoot, she wore a green trench coat, a black skirt, and silver heels.
As Margot Robbie continues to impress with her fashion choices, her stylist, Andrew Mukamal, often draws inspiration from Emily Brontë’s novel to create the overall look for her outfits.
Robbie shared with Elle in January that the person is a history student and loves to research things thoroughly. He visited the set during filming and spent time with our costume designer, Jacqueline Durran, which is unusual.
The project wasn’t just notable for Mukamal’s involvement. Margot, who shares a 16-month-old son with her husband Tom Ackerley, shared that the director gave both her and Jacob, 31, a unique gift to help them prepare for their roles.
She shared that while filming, Emerald Fennell created a little shrine to each of them in their shared dressing room. She explained this during a joint interview with the Saltburn actor on Today last month.
She described Fennel’s behavior as completely wild and funny, explaining that Fennel had created a shrine filled with things like locks of hair, pictures of them, and candles. She joked that it was a ‘Jacob shrine’ for her and a ‘Margot shrine’ for him, finding the whole thing amusing.
