Margot Robbie’s new prequel film is reportedly adding a five-time Oscar-nominee to its cast.
According to Variety, Bradley Cooper is in negotiations to join Margot Robbie in a new movie that will serve as a prequel to the 2001 film *Ocean’s Eleven*. Lee Isaac Chung, the director of *Twisters*, is also working on the project. The film is set before the events of the original *Ocean’s Eleven*, which starred Brad Pitt and George Clooney, and will be set in Europe during the 1960s—a departure from the Las Vegas setting of the first movie. Chung has taken over directing from Jay Roach, and Carrie Solomon is writing the screenplay.
This new movie is the latest installment in the *Ocean’s* series, which began with the 2001 remake of the original 1960 film. The series also includes *Ocean’s Twelve* (2004), *Ocean’s Thirteen* (2007), and *Ocean’s Eight* (2018), featuring Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, and Sandra Bullock.
Bradley Cooper has received five Academy Award nominations for his acting, including performances in films like *Silver Linings Playbook* (2012), *American Hustle* (2013), *American Sniper* (2014), *A Star is Born* (2018), and *Maestro* (2023). Most recently, he appeared as Jor-El, Superman’s father, in James Gunn’s *Superman*.
