Mariah Carey Hits the Perfect Note at Olympic Opening Ceremony 2026

Mariah Carey is ready to be more than just a sweet, sweet fantasy at the 2026 Winter Games.

The singer of “Obsessed” gave a flawless performance at Milan’s San Siro Stadium as part of the opening show for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina.

Mariah took the stage on February 6th in a stunning white gown and feather boa, opening her performance with a rendition of Domenico Modugno’s classic song, “Volare (Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu).” She followed this with her 2025 hit, “Nothing Is Impossible,” showcasing her signature high notes while dancers performed on a spiral-shaped stage.

Oh my gosh, can you believe it?! She actually said she couldn’t believe she had to sing in Italian! It’s just… incredible. She mentioned on The Big Tigger Morning Show last month how much she’s been practicing – seriously, the dedication! It’s amazing to me that someone who’s already won a Grammy is still putting in that much work, but she’s so committed to giving us the best performance ever. I’m just completely obsessed!

Although Mariah won’t be competing for medals at the Winter Games, she recently received a prestigious honor: MusiCare’s Person of the Year award. While accepting the award on January 31st, she spoke about the support system that helped her achieve her dreams.

“It really means the world to me,” Erin shared on Today on February 3rd. She explained that a former teammate told her he’d been voting for her constantly, which she found incredibly touching and a great honor.

Frank, a U.S. Army Sergeant, shared that balancing his military service with bobsledding feels like wearing two hats, and he’s thankful for the chance to do both. He believes his time in the Army has helped him grow as an athlete, a father, a husband, and a teammate, and he’s incredibly grateful for the experience.
