After the *Law & Order: SVU* queens and kings showed up at the 2025 Emmys, Chris Meloni actually posted a video of Mariska Hargitay totally roasting him about how many Emmys he *doesn’t* have! It’s the most adorable, competitive energy, and I can’t handle it. They’re competing for the big prize, but honestly, the banter is the real award!
On September 14th, actor Christopher Meloni, 64, shared a video on Instagram of himself filming a table covered in gold statues. However, his *Law & Order: Organized Crime* co-star, Mariska Hargitay, playfully teased him about never having won an Emmy Award before he could finish the clip.
The 61-year-old playfully said, “You’ll never get that!” and laughed when she noticed he was filming. Christopher then joked, “Do you see what I have to put up with? Do you see what I deal with?”
Mariska Hargitay’s playful comment highlights the limited Emmy recognition Christopher Meloni has received throughout his career. Despite starring on *SVU* for twelve years, he was only nominated once for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series – in 2006. He didn’t win, with the award going to Kiefer Sutherland for *24*.
Mariska has been nominated for an award eight times and has won twice. She received an award for Outstanding Lead Actress in 2006 and another in 2019 for her work as a producer on the HBO crime film, *I Am Evidence*.
Christopher and Mariska didn’t just reconnect behind the scenes at their recent reunion. They also shared a special moment on stage, presenting the award for Outstanding Drama Series with fellow *Law & Order* stars Tony Goldwyn, Ice-T, and S. Epatha Merkerson.
The recent Law & Order reunion delighted fans, but many are still hoping to see a romantic relationship develop between Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler. Mariska Hargitay has hinted that the characters are moving closer to becoming a couple.
She suggested on the July 25th episode of the *Call Her Daddy* podcast, while speaking with Alex Cooper, that the couple should get together during the final episode of the show.
