Mark Consuelos, Son Joaquin Consuelos Are Making Their Broadway Debuts

Mark Consuelos will soon be working from morning to night.

Kelly Ripa announced on Live With Kelly & Mark that her husband, Mark Consuelos, will be making his Broadway debut in March.

Kelly announced on their talk show on January 21st that Mark Consuelos, her cohost, will be appearing on Broadway. He’ll be starring in Noël Coward’s Fallen Angels, directed by Scott Ellis, and alongside Rose Byrne and Kelli O’Hara.

Mark confessed he got nervous when he realized what was happening, but he also shared his enthusiasm about it.

“I’ve really been wanting to get back on stage—I absolutely love performing,” the 54-year-old explained. “It’s been a long time since I’ve had the opportunity, with all the traveling I’ve done and not being based in New York. But now I’m settled here, and honestly, I feel a bit stuck.”

Mark isn’t the only Consuelos family member starting a new project this spring. His youngest son, 22-year-old Joaquin Consuelos, will also be performing on stage in March, appearing in Death of a Salesman with Nathan Lane and Laurie Metcalf.

As Mark put it, “We’re going up against each other.”

Kelly is facing a tricky situation because both the father and son are performing on stage at the same time.

The 55-year-old woman described a difficult nightly decision she faces: whether to visit her husband or her son. She explained, ‘Every night I have to choose who I see.’

Mark, who is also the father of Michael, 28, and Lola, 24, with Kelly, suggested, “Go see our son, or see both of them. Maybe catch a daytime show.”

Honestly, no matter who Kelly ends up with, she’s already said she’s prepared for a lot of drama – she put it perfectly, saying she’s ‘just gonna be seeing hella theater!’ I’m bracing myself, too – it’s going to be quite a ride!

Oh my gosh, Kelly is just the sweetest! It’s not enough that she goes to all her family’s Broadway shows – she’s always there, cheering them on! But seriously, you HAVE to see the adorable pictures of Kelly and Mark with their kids. They’re the cutest family ever, and I’m obsessed with every moment!

It’s a funny thing, hitting a new life stage! This September was the first in over two decades I didn’t have a child heading back to school. It felt a little…empty, honestly. So, I decided to embrace the nostalgia and revisited something I loved from 2008 – a little throwback to brighten things up and fill the void.

In a photo shared by their dad on Lola’s 19th birthday in 2020, it appears Michael is playfully surprising his younger sister.

Joaquin is surrounded by love at his high school graduation.

Kelly jokingly shared that @instasuelos learned he won’t be living with @joaquinconsuelos when Joaquin starts college at the University of Michigan this fall. She mentioned this while visiting Ann Arbor.

In March 2022, Kelly took a short vacation to Detroit to see the Wolverines compete in the Division 1 Wrestling Championships.

Even though Joaquin was only a first-year student and didn’t compete in wrestling this time, Kelly admitted on a live broadcast after returning that watching the young athletes compete was incredibly stressful and aged her significantly.

After having to postpone their trip in 2020 due to the pandemic, the family was finally able to visit Greece and Italy in June 2021.

Kelly explained that what started as a graduation trip for her oldest son and niece ended up being a celebration for the newest members of the family, too, after it was delayed for quite a while.

Kelly loved a family photo taken during their trip to the Mediterranean so much that she used it for their 2021 holiday card.

Kelly shared an old Easter photo from 2012, jokingly referencing her teenage child’s often-disapproving reactions, with the caption, ‘Happy Easter from 2012 because Lola approved this photo.’ She frequently teases her teen on social media.

Mark wished the “spectacular women” in his life a happy International Women’s Day.

“Happy Valentine’s Day to the loves of my life!” Kelly wrote from the heart on Feb. 14, 2022.

Kelly celebrated the fruits of her labor on National Sons Day, Sept. 28, 2021.

In 2021, Kelly Ripa’s son, 24-year-old Michael Consuelos, shared a heartwarming childhood photo of the two of them to celebrate her 51st birthday. He wrote a sweet message wishing her a wonderful day, calling her a strong inspiration and jokingly referring to her as a ‘T. Rex’ as a term of endearment.

In August 2020, Kelly Ripa posted a fun recreation of a family photo from 2003 on Instagram. She sat with her youngest son, Joaquin, on her lap, and her older children, Michael and Lola, posed perfectly to match the original. Kelly joked that things might look a little bigger now, but they definitely pulled it off!

Oh my gosh, I was SO excited for Michael! Back in May 2020, he graduated from NYU, even though it had to be a virtual ceremony because of everything going on with the pandemic. Kelly was the proudest mom EVER – she posted the sweetest message on Instagram about how much joy Michael brings their family, and how unbelievably proud she is of him. She ended it with ‘I love you with all my heart!’ It was just… everything. I seriously cried!

Kelly shared a nostalgic Instagram post comparing photos of her kids from 2011 to 2019, jokingly noting how much they’ve grown – and how much smaller the walls seem now! She captioned the post, “The walls have become smaller.”

“The Graduate #2019,” Kelly wrote on Instagram celebrating Lola’s final days of high school.

Kelly receiving her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2015 was an all-hands-on-deck event.

Kelly matched her son’s gown and the flowers at Joaquin’s middle school graduation.

When your family is this beautiful, you would likely be posing for selfies more often than not too.

Holidays always bring family together and this famous crew is no exception.

In 2003, Kelly Ripa and her husband, Mark Consuelos, attended the opening night of the show A Year With Frog and Toad at Maxine’s in New York City.

In 2001, Mark and Kelly brought their son to the premiere of Atlantis: The Lost Empire at the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York City.

This family always manages to have fun, no matter where they go – whether it’s a warm, tropical destination or a chilly, snowy one.
