Catalina Mancera is keeping Marshawn Kneeland forever in her heart.
Just a week after the Dallas Cowboys player tragically died by suicide at the age of 24, his pregnant girlfriend posted a touching message remembering him.
My heart is absolutely shattered. I saw a Facebook post from her on November 10th where she poured out her feelings, saying that her baby is her everything and that she’ll love them forever, calling them her beautiful angel. It was just… devastating to read.
Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer announced on November 12th that 22-year-old Mancera is pregnant with Kneeland’s baby. He also stated the team has established a fund to assist her with related costs.
Schottenheimer stressed that ensuring the well-being of Catalina and her baby is a top priority for everyone involved. The team has established the Marshawn Kneeland Memorial Fund as a way for people to contribute and provide ongoing support.
Just a day before Schottenheimer announced she was pregnant, Mancera revealed she was struggling immensely with the loss of her boyfriend.
She told The Daily Mail in a recent interview that she’s deeply saddened and doesn’t expect to be ready to discuss her feelings in detail for a long time.
Frisco, Texas police reported that Kneeland died early on November 6th after a car crash. He ran from the scene after officers pursued him, according to a police statement.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve seen firsthand how grief impacts families, and it truly breaks my heart to share that the family of the recently deceased Kneeland has released a statement. They’re understandably devastated by this sudden loss and are still trying to come to terms with everything. It’s a really difficult time for them, and they’ve asked for space to process their grief.

Marshawn was known for his football career with the Dallas Cowboys, but his family said he was even more dedicated to his loved ones. They described him as a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, grandson, and friend. He was a kind, determined, and humble person who brought joy to everyone he met, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those he inspired.
Football star Kneeland’s agent, Jonathan Perzley, was especially impressed with him, describing Kneeland as a “dear friend.”
According to Perzley, Marshawn dedicated himself completely to football, giving his all in practices and games. Losing someone with his skill, positive attitude, and kind heart is incredibly difficult to express in words.
He expressed his deep sadness for the loss, saying he felt heartbroken for the player’s family, teammates, and all those who cared for him. He hopes they find comfort knowing the entire football world is thinking of them during this incredibly difficult time.
To look back on Kneeland’s legacy on and off the field, keep reading…

Marshawn Kneeland‘s football career started long before his time at the NFL.
While in high school in Michigan, Marshawn was a standout player, recording 110 tackles and eight sacks on defense. He also excelled on offense with 20 catches for 330 yards and five touchdowns.

Okay, so after high school, Marshawn went to Western Michigan, and honestly, it was amazing to watch him there! Over his four years, he racked up an incredible 149 tackles – seriously, the guy was everywhere! – and 12.5 sacks. I tracked every single one, of course. It was clear even then he was destined for greatness.

While at school, this athlete was known for his dedication, consistently putting in extra hours at the team’s facilities to practice and study plays.
According to his coach, David Denham, that’s when he began to pull ahead of the competition.

The Dallas Cowboys drafted Marshawn in the second round of 2024, and team owner Jerry Jones famously told him, “We’re going to put a star on that helmet.”
The young athlete was determined to enjoy every second of the experience. He described draft night as a “once in a lifetime” opportunity and said he was simply thrilled to be there.

Marshawn carried his strong work ethic with him when he joined the NFL and began preparing for his rookie season.

As for how he was approaching the NFL, Marshawn just wanted to stick to his game plan.
After being drafted, the player said he plans to continue playing the same way he always has – with a lot of energy, speed, and physical toughness. He believes success will depend on making impactful plays during the game.

Okay, so I’ve been looking at this player’s time with the Texas team, and over nearly two seasons, he really contributed as a solid role player. He finished with 26 tackles and even managed a sack over 18 games. He wasn’t just on the field, either – he actually started in four of those games, which shows the coaches had confidence in him.

Just days before his death, Marshawn scored his first touchdown in the league.
According to his agent, Jonathan Perzley, Marshawn dedicated himself completely to football, giving his all in every game and practice. Perzley expressed immense grief, saying it’s incredibly difficult to describe the pain of losing someone with such talent, positivity, and character.
