The past 24 hours haven’t been great for PlayStation 5 fans, as the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 was just delayed until November 19th.
Skydance Games has announced that Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra won’t be released in early 2026 as originally planned. More concerning is the lack of any new release date.
In a statement, it said:
We’re working hard to make Marvel 1943: Rise of the Hydra a fantastic game that lives up to the expectations of our team and fans. To achieve that, we’ve decided to delay the game’s release to a date after early 2026.
This project is led by Amy Hennig, a well-known figure from the Uncharted series, which immediately suggests a high level of quality.
I’m so excited about this new game! It’s taking place during World War 2, and the main focus is going to be the awesome team-up between Captain America and Black Panther. But get this – we don’t just play as them! We also get to control Gabriel Jones, a member of the Howling Commandos, and Nanali, who leads the Wakandan Spy Network. So four playable characters total, which is incredible!
The project looks great in theory, but it’s been surprisingly slow to develop. It was first announced in 2019, and we haven’t seen much progress since then.
Plaion started handling publishing this year, which gives us hope the game will eventually be released. However, without a new release date, it’s hard to say how much longer we’ll have to wait.
