The second issue of Hulk: Smash Everything starts with the Hulk happily destroying any creatures that challenge him. However, he doesn’t realize the disaster about to strike prehistoric Earth. He’s landed just before a massive asteroid impact – the event that caused the extinction of the dinosaurs and seventy-five percent of all life. The comic vividly depicts the devastation that will follow, comparing the sheer power of the impact to a billion nuclear bombs.

The Hulk is right where the asteroid landed, and everything around him immediately dies. Other creatures suffer for days or even months as the planet recovers from the impact. However, despite this deadly environment, the Hulk survives, driven by his anger and the immense pain he’s feeling. The story emphasizes the brutal details, even pointing out that the heat isn’t enough to harm the Hulk’s body.

The Hulk relentlessly continues, even as the devastated planet tears him apart. He recovers faster than he can be destroyed, trapped in a never-ending loop of pain and fury – but it’s that rage that keeps him going. Eventually, he encounters some of the last animals on Earth and unleashes his destructive power on them.
