Marvel Fans Just Got Bad News About an MCU Version of Miles Morales

If you’re eagerly awaiting Miles Morales to appear in the MCU or “Spider-Man: Brand New Day”, I regret to inform you that this might not be happening anytime soon. Since 2002, Spider-Man has been a mainstay in the superhero movie genre, consistently delivering successful films as one of the most dependable franchises. The character is simply endearing and beloved by many. Plus, there are countless iconic tales yet to be told with Spider-Man. So far, we’ve had eight standalone live-action Spider-Man movies and two animated ones, with another one in the pipeline. All of the live-action films have been spearheaded by Peter Parker, who happens to be the most well-known Spider-Man character.

Over the past ten years or so, Miles Morales has risen in prominence within the Marvel universe. He is now one of the playable characters and even the lead character in his own game, such as Marvel’s Spider-Man for PlayStation. Additionally, he stars in an animated series about “Spider-Verse”. This increased visibility has made Miles Morales a more adored version of Spider-Man. Given that the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has focused on Tom Holland’s Peter Parker for quite some time, many fans anticipate that the role will eventually be passed to Miles Morales. Even Tom Holland himself has expressed interest in introducing Miles Morales into a live-action film, and he was hinted at in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

There Are No Plans for Miles Morales in the MCU Right Now

It’s been confirmed that Miles Morales won’t be appearing in next year’s “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” and there are currently no plans to introduce him into the Marvel Cinematic Universe anytime soon. In an interview with press (Variety), Kevin Feige, head of Marvel Studios, was directly asked about plans for Miles Morales’ appearance. He simply stated that at this moment, “Miles is nowhere” in the MCU.

As a movie reviewer, I’ve got some exciting news for fellow Marvel fans! Kevin Feige, the man behind the magic at Marvel Studios, has shared that our team is keeping Miles Morales on the sidelines until the release of “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse,” slated for 2027. Here’s why: Sony, the folks who brought you the original Spidey films, still hold the film rights to the web-slinger, so they’ve got a say in what goes down with their characters.

“Beyond the Spider-Verse” is expected to wrap up Miles’ storyline in that trilogy, but there might be spin-offs featuring him elsewhere. So, while we eagerly wait for this epic conclusion, it seems like we’ll have to hold our breath for a few more years before Miles makes his grand entrance into the live-action Marvel Cinematic Universe.

As a movie enthusiast, I’m excited about Kevin Feige hinting at a refresh in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) following “Avengers: Secret Wars.” With characters like Sam Wilson and Shuri stepping into the roles of Captain America and Black Panther, it seems plausible that Miles Morales could follow suit. Marvel is already strategizing its next three phases of the MCU, set to unfold post-“Secret Wars,” which is slated for release in 2027. Could this mean we’ll finally get to see Miles Morales make his debut on the big screen? Fingers crossed!
