Marvel Fans Think Doomsday Ties To Deadpool’s Thor Mystery (But it’s Not That Straight Forward)

A strange theory is circulating on X (formerly Twitter) connecting the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday to Deadpool. Fans noticed Thor has an eye injury in the Doomsday trailer that matches one he sustained while reacting to Deadpool in a scene from Deadpool & Wolverine. However, many are pointing out that Thor actually got that scar from his sister, Hela, during the events of Ragnarok.

A Twitter user posted a tweet, claiming it was a joke, questioning the inconsistency of Thor’s hairstyle in the upcoming film Doomsday. They pointed out that Thor appears with short hair in a teaser, despite having long hair in DP&W, and suggested Marvel isn’t paying attention to continuity. Many people didn’t seem to realize it was sarcasm. One reply clarified that the scene isn’t meant to happen in Doomsday at all, but uses footage from The Dark World, and was already a joke within that movie. Another user theorized the discrepancy could be explained in Secret Wars, noting reports that film takes place eight years after Doomsday – plenty of time for Thor’s hair to grow. They added that if this isn’t addressed, it was likely just a one-off joke.

We Still Don’t Know What To Expect From Doomsday

It’s confusing that Thor has short hair in the ‘Doomsday’ teaser, especially since he had long hair in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’. It seems like Marvel isn’t paying attention to keeping things consistent with their storylines anymore, which is frustrating.

It’s still a long way off until Avengers: Doomsday comes out next December, giving fans lots of time to speculate about what might happen. With so little known about the movie and so many rumors going around, expect everything from harmless guesses to wild theories about the plot.

So far, three teasers have been released, with potentially two more (though it’s likely only one more before the full trailer release). The most recently released teaser centers around the X-Men, showing us the broken remains of Charles Xavier’s academy. We then get a shot of Xavier and Magneto as they sit beside one another, hands clasped, as a voiceover from Magneto tells us, “The question isn’t ‘are you prepared to die?’ The question is ‘who will you be when you close your eyes?’” The trailer ends with Cyclops, seemingly among the academy’s ruins, the trademark red beams exploding from his eyes. The other two feature Steve Rogers and Thor, both seeming to focus on themes of family and parenthood, as one holds his child and the other prays that he will return to his daughter.
