Marvel Just Killed Galactus in a Wild Way and It Wasn’t The Fantastic Four

Galactus is an incredibly powerful being in the Marvel Universe. Known as the Devourer of Worlds, he’s a clever opponent who isn’t destroyed permanently because he plays a vital role in maintaining cosmic balance. However, a surprising enemy recently managed to defeat him in a story resembling the ‘What If…?’ series. The Fantastic Four watched the event unfold, but they didn’t actually cause Galactus’s destruction.

In the second issue of Godzilla: Infinity Roar, written by Gerry Duggan with art by Javier Garron and Ig Guara, a follow-up to Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe, Godzilla unexpectedly allies with Knull, the Symbiote god. This dangerous duo then embarks on a destructive journey across the Marvel Universe, heading straight for Earth.

Having defeated the Wakandan Empire, the pair then attacked the Shi’ar Empire. Just when things looked dire, the Fantastic Four intervened, warning Galactus about the unfolding events. Galactus, driven by two desires, confronted the King of Monsters. He hoped Godzilla’s unique energy source would finally quell his constant hunger, and he also wanted at least one world to see him as a force for creation, not just destruction.

How Godzilla killed Galactus, Devourer of Worlds

Initially, it looked like Galactus was successfully draining Godzilla’s power. The technology Galactus uses to destroy planets and turn them into energy quickly overwhelmed the King of the Monsters. But the billions of people in the Shi’ar Empire were soon disappointed when Godzilla’s body began to rebuild itself inside Galactus.

The battle with Galactus ended badly, proving deadly for him. The Fantastic Four had to retreat, abandoning the Shi’ar to a grim fate. The story concludes with Odin preparing for a new threat by uniting the forces of Asgard and Hel against Godzilla and Knull, though it doesn’t look like he’ll have much success against Godzilla.
