Marvel Officially Confirms Doctor Strange’s Design For The Avengers’ New Appearance

Doctor Strange is featured in the latest Avengers project, and fans are excited about his look. The character also participates in a particularly funny scene. Thanks to Benedict Cumberbatch’s portrayal in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Strange has become incredibly popular over the past ten years, especially after his second movie nearly reached $1 billion at the box office.

This highlights how important the character is to Marvel’s future plans. However, there’s still no official confirmation about whether Doctor Strange will be in Avengers: Doomsday. Benedict Cumberbatch has given conflicting statements, at times saying he’s in the movie and other times saying he isn’t, which has caused confusion. Fortunately, fans who wanted to see Doctor Strange team up with the Avengers got their wish in 2025.

Marvel Has Revealed What New Avengers Special’s Doctor Strange Looks Like

LEGO Marvel Avengers: Strange Tails premiered on Disney+ on November 14, 2025. This animated special, split into two parts, follows Hawkeye as he creates a new team of Avengers to battle a powerful, mystical cat influencer. When the original Avengers fall under the mind control of the villain, Meryet Karim, Hawkeye needs to find heroes elsewhere, which leads to the appearance of Doctor Strange.

Doctor Strange doesn’t appear for long in the Avengers TV series, but he does make a brief and enjoyable appearance. Hawkeye and Black Panther visit Doctor Strange hoping to learn about ancient magic, even older than what’s known in Wakanda. They find him at his home, the Sanctum Sanctorum, and he directs them to Tigra, who is a specialist in the subject.

Doctor Strange jumps through a portal to another dimension to battle Gargantos and retrieve his stolen pizza – it’s classic LEGO action! The LEGO version of Doctor Strange is based on his traditional Marvel Comics look. He features a red and blue costume inspired by the Avengers TV series, complete with his signature cape, the Eye of Agamotto, and a brown belt.

How The New Avengers Special’s Doctor Strange Compares To Other Versions Of The Marvel Hero?

Because Benedict Cumberbatch’s portrayal of Doctor Strange is so well-known, it’s a great way to compare him to the animated version of the character. The biggest difference between his look in the new Avengers animated series and his costumes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies is on his chest.

The animated Doctor Strange has a light blue, cross-shaped symbol outlined in red – a design that’s different from the chest of his usual Marvel Cinematic Universe suits. However, the main suit he wears in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness includes a similar pattern, drawing inspiration from the comic books. Because of this, the Doctor Strange design for the upcoming Avengers project is particularly interesting.
