The newest Avengers film from Marvel is a thrilling adventure featuring a team of heroes. Hawkeye plays a central role, and his character design is particularly impressive. Jeremy Renner brilliantly portrays Clint Barton in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, first appearing in 2011’s Thor. He’s been a key part of many of the most popular MCU films ever since.
The actor also starred in the popular Marvel TV series, Hawkeye, which introduced Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop, positioned as Clint Barton’s successor. While neither version of Hawkeye is currently confirmed to appear in Avengers: Doomsday, the new Avengers film should still satisfy fans of the character, even if it’s within a different storyline.
Marvel Has Revealed What New Avengers Special’s Hawkeye Looks Like
LEGO Marvel Avengers: Strange Tails is a fun, animated superhero story that really embraces its LEGO style. This two-part series combines classic LEGO humor with exciting action, making it a great watch for Marvel fans eager for more Avengers adventures while they wait for Avengers: Doomsday. It premiered on Disney+ on November 14, 2025.
Unlike the Avengers movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, LEGO Marvel Avengers: Strange Tails focuses on Hawkeye as the main hero. While Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye was controlled by Loki for much of The Avengers and missed Avengers: Infinity War, Troy Baker’s animated version gets to be the hero, saving his mind-controlled teammates.
Hawkeye joins forces with heroes like Black Panther, Tigra, and Black Cat to face a new danger. During this adventure, fans will notice he’s wearing a popular costume: a black shirt with purple sleeves and a purple arrow symbol on his chest. His bow and arrows match the suit, featuring a black and purple color scheme.

The design of Hawkeye in the Avengers movies aligns with the hero’s current comic book appearance, which is a more streamlined look. It differs from his older, more exaggerated style that included a full mask. A key feature of the recent comic book portrayal, particularly in Matt Fraction’s run, is that Hawkeye is often depicted without sleeves, though some versions include short black sleeves.
For years in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye wore primarily black tactical suits with purple accents. The Disney+ series Hawkeye then introduced a costume remarkably similar to the one featured in the LEGO Marvel Avengers: Strange Tails game. This new suit also has a more streamlined arrow design and purple sleeves. Fans who were disappointed by Hawkeye’s limited role so far in Avengers: Doomsday should definitely watch Marvel’s Avengers show.
