Rhino is back in the latest Spider-Man movie with a look fans will love, and he’s interacting with a lot of other Marvel characters, both heroes and villains. So far, Rhino has only shown up in one live-action Spider-Man film: The Amazing Spider-Man 2, where Paul Giamatti played the role and briefly battled Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man at the beginning and end of the movie.
Rhino hasn’t appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man films, even though there was an opportunity to bring back the version played by Paul Giamatti. Spider-Man: No Way Home included villains from previous Spider-Man universes starring Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, like The Lizard and Electro. While it’s not yet known if Rhino will be in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day, fans will be able to see the character again in 2026.
Marvel Has Revealed What Spidey And His Amazing Friends Season 4’s Rhino Looks Like
Fans can now see Spider-Man in new episodes of Spidey and his Amazing Friends season 4, which are streaming on Disney+ and Disney Jr. This comes before the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day on July 31st, featuring Tom Holland, Jon Bernthal as the Punisher, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, Sadie Sink in a new role, and others.
This animated series isn’t part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, unlike Disney+’s Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. However, the show, designed for younger viewers, includes a lot of classic Spider-Man villains, plus heroes and bad guys from throughout Marvel’s history. Justin Shenkarow, known for his work on Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, provides the voice for Rhino, who appears in several episodes.
The fourth season of Spidey and his Amazing Friends includes the episode “The Treasure of Billie the Pirate,” which first aired on January 2, 2026. In this version, Rhino wears a complete rhino suit that makes him look more like a regular person than a huge monster. The suit is made of armor, and he tops it off with a sailor hat.
How Spidey And His Amazing Friends Season 4’s Rhino Compares To Other Versions Of The Marvel Villain?
When comparing the Rhino villain from the animated Spider-Man series, the most relevant version is from The Amazing Spider-Man 2. As the only live-action movie portrayal of the character, that design wasn’t well-received. In fact, Rhino’s appearance – a man inside a large, robotic rhino suit – was a major point of criticism when the film first came out.
The design for Rhino in Spidey and his Amazing Friends is quite unique. He has a more human-like build, reminiscent of his original comic book appearance. The armored suit builds on ideas from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 but doesn’t drastically change the character. This version differs from the Rhino in Kraven the Hunter, who actually became a rhino-like creature; this Rhino simply wears a powerful suit of armor.
