With the positive reception to the Daredevil: Born Again series, there’s a new report indicating Marvel Studios could be considering bringing another of the old Netflix Marvel shows—from the now-canceled Defenders Saga—back to life.
Currently, Frank Castle, also known as The Punisher and played by Jon Bernthal, is the only character from previous Marvel series confirmed to get his own dedicated presentation on Disney+. Fans will also be able to see him again in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is scheduled to release on July 31, 2026.
What Netflix TV show is Marvel Studios potentially reviving?
Marvel Studios is reportedly working on a new Jessica Jones project, over six years after the original series was canceled by Netflix. This news comes before Krysten Ritter is finally set to appear as Jessica Jones in the second season of Daredevil: Born Again, where she’ll be reunited with Charlie Cox, who plays Daredevil.
It’s currently unknown whether the project people are talking about will be a complete series or a one-time event. Last year, reports surfaced that Marvel Studios was looking for writers to potentially create a fourth season of Jessica Jones, an idea first mentioned by Marvel executive Brad Winderbaum.
“[It’s coming] maybe sooner than you think,” Winderbaum previously said.
Dario Scardapane is the showrunner and executive producer of Daredevil: Born Again. Joining Charlie Cox in Season 2 are new cast members Matthew Lillard and Lili Taylor. With Vincent D’Onofrio also returning, fans are hoping to see other heroes from The Defenders – like Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) – make appearances. The new season is scheduled to premiere on March 4, 2026.
