A major villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is set to become more powerful than ever before in Phase 6, particularly with the second season of Daredevil: Born Again. Over the next two years, Marvel Studios plans to introduce a lineup of formidable villains, including Doctor Doom and Kingpin. This builds on the strong villains featured in Phase 5, such as the High Evolutionary, Kang the Conqueror, and Lady Death.
A new report from Empire reveals that Vincent D’Onofrio’s character, Wilson Fisk, will be incredibly powerful in the upcoming Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again, which is set to premiere in March as part of Marvel’s Phase 6.
After the recent season’s end, Fisk has taken control of New York City, declaring martial law under his “Safer Streets Initiative.” This includes a ban on all vigilante actions and a city-wide curfew starting at 8 p.m., which will be enforced by a special task force created to stop vigilantes.
According to producer Sana Amanat, Wilson Fisk, also known as Kingpin, starts Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again having achieved all his goals. The upcoming Disney+ series will explore whether this newfound power will truly satisfy him, or if his relentless pursuit of control will ultimately be his downfall.
What happens to Fisk now that he’s achieved all his goals? If you give someone who’s always craving more exactly what they desire most, does it satisfy them? Or do they end up destroying what they’ve gained?
Kingpin now has total control of New York City, with a heavily armed task force and the legal authority to back it up.
While Kingpin is a major force and a big problem for heroes like Daredevil in the upcoming Born Again series, other villains planned for Phase 6 of the MCU are even more powerful – some pose a threat to the entire universe.
The 5 Most Powerful Villains Appearing in the MCU’s Phase 6
Galactus

Even though The Fantastic Four: First Steps significantly reduced Galactus’s power, he remained one of the most powerful and frightening villains the MCU had shown up to that point, posing a serious danger to the universe of Earth-828.
Grim Reaper

Demetrius Grosse is set to play Grim Reaper in the upcoming series Wonder Man, which premieres on January 26th. Grim Reaper, whose real name is Eric Williams and is the brother of Wonder Man (Simon Williams), has abilities that change depending on the story, but recently he’s been depicted with powerful magical skills, including the ability to control the dead and steal life force with a scythe.
Ultron

The sequel to WandaVision, titled VisionQuest, is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ in 2026. The show will feature at least five villains, including Ultron – a major threat to the Avengers from about ten years ago.
Magneto

Ian McKellen, known for playing Magneto in the X-Men films, is confirmed to return as the powerful supervillain in Avengers: Doomsday. As one of the most powerful mutants in the Marvel Universe, Magneto’s allegiance – whether he’ll fight for good or evil – remains a mystery as a major multiversal conflict approaches in 2026.
Doctor Doom

Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is leading up to a major threat: Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom in the upcoming films Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars. Doom, driven by a deep hatred for the entire Multiverse, will combine magic, advanced technology, and his incredible intelligence to battle Marvel’s heroes.
BONUS.) Kingpin

While Wilson Fisk, or Kingpin, doesn’t deal with magic, cosmic powers, or the Multiverse, he’s undeniably a powerful figure in New York. His influence will extend beyond the Daredevil: Born Again storyline and into Spider-Man: Brand New Day, meaning his actions will have lasting consequences throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
