Marvel Studios Won’t Release ‘Young Avengers’ Until After 1 Crucial Event (Report)

The upcoming Young Avengers project from Marvel Studios is likely to be released after a major Marvel Cinematic Universe event. While fans have been anticipating this team-up for over ten years, thanks to hints in previous movies and Disney+ shows, its debut is still delayed.

Marvel Studios is delaying the release of its Young Avengers series on Disney+ until after the movie Avengers: Secret Wars. Sources say Marvel intends for this show, which will be known as Champions, and the Strange Academy series to both begin after the sixth Avengers film. There’s a chance both shows could also have several seasons.

I’m so excited to hear that ‘Champions’ and ‘Strange Academy’ are planned to continue after Secret Wars! It sounds like they’re aiming for multiple seasons, which is fantastic news for fans like me. I’m really hoping these series get the long run they deserve!

Although a Young Avengers series on Disney+ is likely happening, it probably won’t be released for at least two years. This might be frustrating for Marvel fans, especially since the Disney+ shows have been introducing characters who could become the Young Avengers. Given that Avengers: Secret Wars is scheduled for December 2027, the Young Avengers show isn’t expected until 2028 at the earliest.

Currently, Marvel Studios hasn’t officially announced a Young Avengers project, though most sources believe it will be a series on Disney+. While the team’s members haven’t been revealed, Hailee Steinfeld, who plays Kate Bishop, and Iman Vellani, who plays Kamala Khan, are likely to be key leaders.

How Young Avengers’ Delay May Help Project

The next two Avengers movies will be packed with heroes, both established favorites from the Marvel universe and current MCU stars. After a major conclusion in Avengers: Secret Wars – potentially including a reset of the timeline – the door will open for new teams like the Young Avengers to take the spotlight.

A key concern now is whether the recent delays will make the Young Avengers actors seem too old as their characters mature. Hailee Steinfeld is expecting a baby later this year, and other cast members like Kathryn Newton and Dominique Thorne are already in their late twenties, which could affect how believable their roles are as they age up.

Marvel plans to build the Young Avengers into a major team over several years, and Phase 7 of the MCU seems like the ideal time for them to truly come into their own. They’ll likely face more personal, manageable challenges – rather than huge threats like Doctor Doom – allowing them to grow and develop as heroes.
