Marvel Transforms Mickey Mouse and Friends Into the Fantastic Four

Marvel Transforms Mickey Mouse and Friends Into the Fantastic Four

As a longtime fan of both Marvel and Disney, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming collaboration between these two titans of pop culture. The idea of Mickey Mouse and his friends taking on the roles of Marvel’s First Family is an absolute dream come true!

As a gaming enthusiast diving into the Marvel universe, I can’t wait for next year when “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” hits the big screen – marking the debut of the Fantastic Four under the Marvel Studios banner. Meanwhile, while we eagerly anticipate this blockbuster, the comics are serving up a treat with their unique crossovers between Marvel and Disney characters. The “What If…?” stories have been posing intriguing questions like: What if Donald Duck turned out to be Wolverine? Or, what if Minnie Mouse donned the Captain Marvel suit? Coming soon, Mickey Mouse is set to lead a special issue, exploring his perspective on Marvel’s iconic family, the Fantastic Four.

In this fresh partnership between Marvel and Disney, we find a captivating narrative titled “What If…? Mickey & Friends Transformed as the Fantastic Four.” Penned by Steve Behling and Riccardo Secchi, with art from Lorenzo Pastrovicchio, it reimagines the classic 1961 origin story of the Fantastic Four, originally created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, in a contemporary light.

In this rephrased version: Mickey Mouse assumes the role of the team’s commander (FF), possessing Reed Richards’ elastic abilities; Minnie Mouse takes on the role of the Invisible Woman; Goofy embodies the Human Torch; and Donald Duck becomes The Thing. Readers will follow the Disney characters as they embark on a perilous space journey that bestows them with extraordinary powers, all while uniting for their initial superhero encounter against Pete, who is also known as Mole Man.

In my own words, as an avid Fantastic Four (FF) enthusiast, editor Mark Paniccia hinted that this particular issue will evoke nostalgia and perhaps even cause a laugh, by resurrecting the essence of Marvel’s original family in a tale I can only characterize as fantastic!

Who Stars in The Fantastic Four: First Steps?

In the movie titled “The Incredible Four: Initial Journey”, Pedro Pascal plays Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby portrays Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn assumes the role of Johnny Storm/The Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach takes on Ben Grimm/The Thing.

As a diehard fan, I’m thrilled to share that besides the four main characters, this movie has some exciting additions! Paul Walter Hauser, known for his work in ‘Black Bird’ and ‘Cruella’, will be joining the cast, although his role hasn’t been revealed yet. Additionally, Ralph Ineson will embody Galactus, while Julia Garner steps into the dual roles of Shalla-Bal and Silver Surfer. Lastly, Natasha Lyonne and John Malkovich are also part of the ensemble, but their roles remain a mystery for now. Can’t wait to see what they bring to the table!
