Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection’s Impressive Sales Show Fans Are Hungry for More

Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics has officially sold over one million copies.

Capcom recently shared a message on social media, expressing gratitude to fans of their popular fighting game series.

We’re thrilled to announce that this game has sold 1 million copies worldwide! Thank you to everyone for your amazing support, and we can’t wait for you to continue enjoying it!

The Marvel vs. Capcom games are popular fighting games that let characters from Marvel and Capcom universes battle each other.

This game features quick, visually appealing tag-team battles. Instead of controlling a single fighter, you choose a team and switch between characters during fights to use their different abilities.

The Marvel vs. Capcom series hasn’t had a new game since *MVC: Infinite*, which wasn’t well-received by fans. This disappointing release led many to believe the series was finished, but a recent retro collection revived interest and excitement.

People are still really excited about the Marvel vs. Capcom series. Considering how well Capcom has been doing lately, we think a new, high-quality game would be a big hit.

But it will face competition from Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, a team-based fighting game set to release on PlayStation in 2026.

Arc System Works, the studio behind popular fighting games like Dragon Ball FighterZ, Guilty Gear Strive, and Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, is currently developing this game.

A key distinction is that Tokon exclusively features Marvel characters and doesn’t include content from other franchises.

The exciting matchups-like Spider-Man and Wolverine battling Ryu and Mega Man-are what make Marvel vs. Capcom special, and that potential still exists even after the Tokon era. However, whether we’ll actually see it happen remains to be seen.
