In a surprising turn of events, Marvel Comics intends to demonstrate beyond doubt that The Incredible Hulk is unquestionably the strongest character they’ve ever created. While he’s long claimed
Hulk Versus Everything, and I Mean Everything
Titled “Hulk: Smash Everything,” this thrilling, five-issue limited series hits the shelves in December. Prepare to witness the Invincible Hulk facing off against a diverse array of Marvel’s toughest adversaries – from heroes and villains, to dinosaurs and even entire planets! But fear not, this isn’t just another combat-heavy comic; it’s a challenge that pushes the gamma-infused beast to its limits. The Hulk will grapple with foes of every kind: heroes, villains, cosmic entities, and even abstract concepts like gravity itself. Marvel is making a bold statement with this series: there isn’t anything within their expansive universe that can withstand the mighty Hulk’s smash!
The renowned duo of writer Ryan North, known for works such as “Fantastic Four” and “One World Under Doom”, and artist Vincenzo Carratù, famed for his work on “Psylocke” and “Dracula: Blood Hunt”, are set to collaborate on an epic saga unlike any other. This series will kick off with traditional battles, escalating issue by issue, page by page, becoming increasingly grander than ever before. The storyline will progressively evolve as the Hulk encounters various challenges, without any room for filler or slowing down. As the Hulk ascends through the ranks with each powerful smash, he’ll strive to reach the pinnacle, wherever that might lead.
In a conversation with Marvel, North expressed his admiration for the character Hulk, stating that Phillip Kennedy Johnson is doing exceptional work with him in “The Incredible Hulk”. He described the series as a timeless (without intending a pun) narrative where Hulk destroys an escalating array of things over the course of five issues. The story ventures into unexpected territories, some of which will surprise you, and one, if you’re familiar with North, that will not. Amidst the destruction and mayhem, the series also weaves a heartwarming tale about this massive green creature.
Carraù stated that Bruce, particularly in the Marvel Universe, has an incredibly intriguing mind. Ever since Peter David introduced his multiple personalities, Hulk has been a continuous source of exploration for Carraù. Currently, drawing Hulk is especially meaningful to him because who hasn’t fantasized about destroying everything during a moment of anger? This aspect of his identity will be delved into in the upcoming work, and this time, Hulk will have complete freedom. The result promises to be entertaining and utterly madcap as Ryan and Carraù guide Hulk towards the most ridiculous corners of the universe with no boundaries!
