A fresh whisper regarding the storyline specifics of Marvel Studios’ forthcoming Disney+ show, Marvel Zombies, hints at delight for followers of Scarlet Witch.
What are the rumored first plot details for Marvel Zombies?
Based on a recent update from Nexus Point News, Scarlet Witch is set to take center stage in the upcoming series. The article reveals that her character, Wanda Maximoff, will be known as “The Dead Queen” within this storyline, while Okoye assumes the role of a secondary antagonist overseeing an army of the undead.
The storyline hints at the introduction of zombie-like versions of popular Marvel Studios characters such as Ghost, Hawkeye, Abomination, Captain Marvel, and Captain America. Additionally, there are rumors about fresh faces joining the cast for the upcoming series.
In a different world, the Marvel Zombies series takes the Marvel Cinematic Universe and flips it on its head, introducing a fresh group of heroes who must fight against an unstoppable zombie outbreak. This upcoming production will see familiar faces like Awkwafina (from Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings), portraying Katey, David Harbour (Thunderbolts) as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Simu Liu (Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings) in his role as Shang-Chi, Elizabeth Olsen (WandaVision) as Scarlet Witch, Randall Park (WandaVision) as Jimmy Woo, Florence Pugh (Thunderbolts) as Yelena Belova, Hailee Steinfeld (Hawkeye) as Kate Bishop, Dominique Thorne (Ironheart) as Riri Williams, and Iman Vellani (The Marvels) as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel, with Hudson Thames (What If…?) stepping into the shoes of Spider-Man.
*Please note that David Harbour is set for Thunderbolts, but not confirmed for this specific series, and Florence Pugh’s role in Thunderbolts has not been officially announced.
The series is helmed by Bryan Andrews, with Zeb Wells penning the script and taking on an executive producer role. This production draws inspiration from the fifth episode of Season 1 in What If…?, where the movies Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018) and Avengers: Infinity War (2018) conclude in a zombie outbreak scenario. In a recent statement, Andrews hinted that the show will include intense and adventurous zombie scenes that deviate from what we’ve seen in What If…?
Marvel Zombies will premiere on Disney+ on October 3, 2025.
