As a longtime Marvel fan, I’ve noticed something really cool over the past twenty years: they’ve created so many amazing teenage superheroes! But it’s not exactly a new thing, either. When Marvel first started, heroes like Spider-Man, the Human Torch, and even Nova were all teenagers themselves! What’s different now is that we have a whole new wave of young heroes, and it’s awesome to see those original teen heroes all grown up and mentoring them. It really feels like a passing of the torch, and it adds a lot to the stories.
Here is a look at the 10 most powerful teenage superheroes in Marvel Comics today.
10) Nico Minoru

Nico Minoru started as a member of the Runaways, a team of teenagers who discovered their parents were villains and decided to fight back. While her parents practiced dark magic, Nico’s own magical abilities aren’t as strong as some other Marvel characters. Her biggest challenge is that the Staff of One, which she uses to cast spells, can’t be used to repeat the same spell twice – doing so results in unpredictable outcomes. Despite limited training, Nico has demonstrated impressive magical power with the Staff, even being able to create portals. However, she needs the Staff to perform her unique form of magic, called Blood Magic.
9) Kamala Khan

Kamala Khan is a remarkably powerful teenage superhero in the Marvel Universe, and her abilities have continued to grow. Originally an Inhuman with the power to stretch and reshape her body like the character Plastic Man, she later discovered she’s also a mutant – a rare combination in the Marvel world. This second power allows her to create solid objects and energy shields made of light, which she uses to defend herself in battle, and even form a protective, light-based armor.
8) Miles Morales

As a huge Marvel fan, I’ve always thought Miles Morales was incredibly powerful, and honestly, in some ways even more powerful than Peter Parker’s Spider-Man. He stepped up after Peter died in his universe, and it’s not just about taking on the mantle. Miles has these awesome Venom Blasts that Peter never had, plus his spider-sense is actually stronger! He’s physically just as strong as Peter, getting even stronger when the going gets tough. The only thing holding him back a little, at least at first, is his lack of experience and a bit of self-doubt. But trust me, Miles is a top-tier hero with incredible potential.
7) Hulkling

When Hulkling debuted with the Young Avengers, he initially resembled a smaller version of the Hulk. This was a deliberate tactic to make the team seem like the younger generation of the original Avengers. However, it was later revealed that Hulkling was actually a Skrull, a shapeshifter capable of taking on any form. His powers grew even further when he discovered he was a hybrid of both Skrull and Kree heritage, and that his father was the legendary Captain Mar-Vell. Now, he possesses incredible abilities including flight, extreme flexibility, and superhuman strength and resilience comparable to characters like The Thing or Hercules.
6) Noh-Varr

As a fan, it’s really interesting comparing Hulkling and Noh-Varr! Noh-Varr is a full Kree, and his story is wild – he showed up on Earth pretending to be the original Captain Marvel! He started off as a bad guy, but eventually turned things around and even teamed up with the Young Avengers. Being pure Kree, he’s incredibly strong, fast, and basically has peak human abilities across the board. Plus, he’s self-sufficient and can survive in space without any gear! What’s even cooler is that he has these nanobots inside him that can block pain, and he has total control over technology – and even his own body! He can just touch something and control it, and he has complete mental control over everything happening inside him.
5) Brawn

Brawn used to be considered one of Marvel’s strongest teenage heroes. He started as a remarkably intelligent, ordinary kid – essentially a human supercomputer capable of predicting events. This made him incredibly difficult to beat. Later, he gained the Hulk’s powers, putting him on par with other gamma-powered characters. Over time, his power level has decreased as he’s learned to control nanobots within his body, preventing the same loss of control seen in the Hulk. Even with this adjustment, he remains powerful enough to hold his own in a fight against someone as strong as Namor.
4) Nova

Nova gains his abilities from the Nova Helmet. This helmet lets him fly and control immense energy. Similar to other Nova Corps members, he can channel this energy into powerful beams fired from his hands. He can also generate force fields, using them both for defense and offense – he’s even destroyed spaceships with them. Beyond energy manipulation, the helmet grants him superhuman strength, speed, and resilience. It also allows him to link with the Xandarian Worldmind, though the extent of his connection to the Nova Force itself remains unclear.
3) America Chavez

America Chavez is a remarkably powerful teenage hero from Marvel Comics. She can harness energy from other dimensions, and the full scope of her abilities is unknown, meaning her true strength is limitless. She nearly defeated Loki, who acknowledged she’s strong enough to launch a tank from Earth to the moon! America is practically invulnerable, making her one of Marvel’s most durable superwomen. She can also create star-shaped portals to travel anywhere in the Multiverse and is aware of events happening across all realities.
2) Wiccan

Wiccan is an incredibly powerful teenage superhero, stronger than anyone else on teams like the Young Avengers and the Champions. This is because he’s the reborn son of the Scarlet Witch – not born in the traditional sense, but magically created by her and given many of her abilities. Like Wanda, he can alter reality, which is a significant threat considering her history of rewriting reality and her current role as Sorcerer Supreme. In fact, Wiccan’s potential is even greater; he’s destined to become the Demiurge, a godlike being capable of completely reshaping reality and magic itself. While he usually needs to speak spells to use his powers, he’s improving at performing magic silently.
1) Franklin Richards

Franklin Richards is incredibly powerful – arguably the most powerful being in the Marvel Universe. Because his abilities are so immense – he can reshape reality on a universal scale, create entire worlds and even sentient life – Marvel Comics often limits his powers. This is done to keep things fair in larger conflicts and prevent him from overshadowing other heroes. He’s demonstrated his power by creating worlds and being worshipped as a god by their inhabitants, saving all Marvel heroes from Onslaught by creating a safe haven, and helping to restore the universe after the Secret Wars. Essentially, when Marvel needs a cosmic-level threat dealt with, they sometimes dial down Franklin’s abilities, but his potential is unmatched.
