Marvel’s Biggest Movie of the Year Has Finally Made Its Way to Streaming

Marvel Studios has faced some challenges recently. While Deadpool & Wolverine was a huge hit, it was different from typical Marvel Cinematic Universe films. Thunderbolts gained back some fan excitement, but didn’t perform well in theaters. Thankfully, the third MCU movie of 2025 did earn money and pleased audiences, and is now available to stream on Disney+.

While Fantastic Four: First Steps didn’t quite become a blockbuster, earning about $522 million, it was still Marvel and Disney’s most successful film of the year. More importantly, it lays the groundwork for future Avengers movies. Now, with Fantastic Four available for streaming, fans can get ready for Avengers: Doomsday and learn more about the First Family.

I was so excited to see that The Fantastic Four: First Steps is now streaming on Disney+! I finally got to check it out after it finished its run in theaters and after the 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD release last month. It’s awesome that it’s so much easier to watch now – Matt Shakman really nailed the retrofuturistic vibe, and it’s a great addition to the MCU!

Now that Fantastic Four is streaming on Disney+, all three Marvel Cinematic Universe movies released this year are available to watch on the service, joining the rest of the expanding franchise. Captain America: Brave New World was the first 2025 release to arrive, and Thunderbolts followed a couple of months later.

What’s Next for the MCU?

If you’re hoping for more Marvel content soon, there aren’t any further releases scheduled for the rest of this year. The next project, a live-action series called Wonder Man starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, will debut on Disney+ in January 2026. While that’s not too distant, it won’t arrive until the new year begins.

As a huge movie fan, I’ve been looking at what Marvel Studios has coming up, and honestly, the schedule is looking pretty bare right now – it’s the emptiest I’ve seen in ages! They’ve got two films planned for 2026: Spider-Man: Brand New Day is hitting theaters in July, and then Avengers: Doomsday will wrap up the year in December. Both are sequels, of course.

Currently, the only confirmed Marvel movie besides those already announced is Avengers: Secret Wars, which will conclude the Multiverse Saga and start a new phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While it’s expected the X-Men will play a significant role in this new era, details beyond that are still unknown.
