As a huge Marvel fan, I’ve loved watching the MCU build this incredible, connected universe ever since that first Nick Fury scene after the credits of Iron Man way back in 2008! And next year looks absolutely insane! We’re getting Spider-Man: Brand New Day with Punisher, Hulk, and Spidey himself, plus Avengers: Doomsday which is going to bring heroes from all different versions of Earth together. But before all that, Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is coming out, and it feels like the first big step this year to really bring some of our favorite characters fully into the main MCU storyline. It’s going to be amazing!
Even before filming began on Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again, Marvel announced that Krysten Ritter would be returning as Jessica Jones, a popular character from the earlier Netflix Marvel shows. This was exciting news for fans who loved her portrayal of the tough, complex hero alongside Daredevil. While it seemed logical given the ending of Born Again‘s first season, recent developments show we can’t be certain about the details of her return.
Jessica Jones’ Daredevil: Born Again Return May Not Be What You Think

Following a team-up between Jessica Jones and Daredevil in The Defenders, fans hoped to see them work together again. Sadly, that was the only time those characters shared a storyline—until now. The new Daredevil: Born Again series is set to change that. At the end of the first season of the Daredevil revival on Disney+, Wilson Fisk was victorious, leaving Daredevil vulnerable and in need of help. Many viewers thought Daredevil would team up with characters like the new White Tiger and even The Punisher, which made the news of Krysten Ritter returning as Jessica Jones even more exciting. Initially, fans believed she’d join Daredevil in building a new team of vigilantes. However, it now appears that won’t be the case.
Sana Amanat, a producer on Daredevil: Born Again, explained that Jessica Jones isn’t typically one to join forces with others. She’s returning to the show because her story feels deeply personal. Amanat also highlighted that Jones adds a unique balance to the series, bringing both a sharp wit and a playful energy to contrast Daredevil’s often serious and intense tone.
Amanat’s assessment of Jessica Jones as someone who prefers to work alone aligns with how the character has been shown in both her own series and The Defenders. While she’ll appear alongside Daredevil (and likely his alter ego), viewers shouldn’t anticipate Jones joining a large-scale team effort to take down Fisk.
Jones’s skills are likely more valuable for uncovering connections to Fisk and helping to take him down than for being a central member of a team. While a short team-up between Daredevil and Jessica Jones against a shared enemy seems possible, she probably won’t play a major role in the overall team dynamic of Season 2.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 premieres on March 4, 2026, on Disney+.
