Okay, so I just got back from the Marvel Studios panel at New York Comic-Con, and things are looking good for animation fans! We got updates on both *X-Men ’97* and *Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man*, both of which are coming back for more in 2026. *Daredevil: Born Again* is also set to return on Disney+ next year, promising more of that classic hero-versus-Kingpin action. But honestly, the biggest buzz is around *Wonder Man*. The trailer dropped, and let me tell you, this series looks like it’s going to be something totally different for the MCU when it hits in January. It’s definitely the one to watch!
I’m so excited for the premiere of Wonder Man! Simon Williams, the man behind the Wonder Man, is going to be amazing. It all starts January 27th at 6 PM Pacific Time, exclusively on Disney+! I’ve already marked my calendar.

The upcoming series, *Wonder Man*, centers around the audition process for a major movie role that could launch an actor’s career. Simon Williams is confident he can win the part, despite his agent’s doubts. To get a better idea of the competition, Williams seeks advice from Trevor Slattery, who seems to be thriving in Hollywood.
The trailer reveals that Slattery was once the public face of the Ten Rings organization, manipulated by Aldrich Killian, who sought revenge on Tony Stark and the world for feeling ignored in *Iron Man 3*. After being captured by the real Mandarin in *Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings*, Slattery escaped and found new opportunities.
As a fan, I’m really curious to see how Slattery’s character will bring Williams into the superhero scene, but honestly, the *Wonder Man* trailer is keeping everything super close to the chest! It’s mostly focused on this weird thing the director, Von Kovak, does – inviting actors back for callbacks at *his house*! But they can’t hide things forever, especially since *Wonder Man* is teasing the arrival of one of Marvel’s biggest powerhouses. I need to know more!
Wonder Man Is Far More Than an Actor
Similar to the Wonder Man seen in movies, the comic book version is also an actor. However, his acting career is cut short due to trouble caused by his brother, Eric Williams, who threatens the family. Desperate, Williams makes a deal with Baron Zemo, gaining superpowers strong enough to battle the entire Avengers team. Zemo intends to defeat Earth’s heroes, but his plan backfires when Williams ultimately decides to fight on the side of good.
As a comic book fan, I’ve always known Wonder Man is *seriously* powerful. He basically runs on pure energy, giving him incredible strength, making him super tough, and letting him fly. Honestly, there aren’t many limits to what he can do. I’m excited to see the MCU version develop – it might take a little time, but I think we’re going to see him become one of the most powerful heroes in the whole franchise, right up there with the big guns.
Wonder Man starts streaming on Disney+ on January 27, 2026.
