It’s an exciting time for Marvel enthusiasts of all ages, as the new animated show “Iron Man and His Amazing Companions” demonstrates. Produced by Marvel Studios Animation and Atomic Cartoons, this series is designed for preschoolers and features Mason Blomberg as Tony Stark, aka Iron Man. The show made its debut on Disney+ on August 11th and has already garnered positive feedback from both parents and kids. Young ones dealing with this week’s heatwave might find solace in this series, while parents may be pleasantly surprised by the show’s lesser-known Marvel characters. Currently, two episodes are streaming on Disney+, with a new one premiering each day this week, and more to come in September.
The story revolves primarily around Tony Stark, also known as Iron Man, along with his new companions Riri Williams, or Ironheart (Kapri Ladd), Amadeus Cho, who transforms into Iron Hulk (Aidyn Ahn), and Cho’s canine companion Gamma, or Iron Pup (Fred Tatasciore). This quartet unites to combat crime while donning their Iron Suits, collectively known as the Iron Friends. They devise creative solutions for problems using their combined abilities. In addition, they work alongside other superheroes such as Vision (David Kaye), Sam Wilson, alias Captain America (Hero Hunter), T’Challa, the Black Panther (Cruz Flateau), and Anya Corazon, who takes on the role of Iron Spider (Lena Josephine Marano).
The new show has similar origins as the currently paused preschool series “Spidey and His Amazing Friends,” which airs during its fourth season. It’s rumored that Marvel and Disney are planning a crossover between these shows in October. Some fans might remember John Stamos voicing Iron Man on “Spidey,” but in the upcoming series, Stamos returns to voice Howard Stark instead.
As a movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled about the new series that offers an excellent opportunity for parents and kids to bond over a shared passion, particularly if we’re already superhero fans! With many superhero movies leaning towards PG-13 or even R ratings these days, it’s refreshing to find a well-regarded show catering to a younger audience. Although it means managing our children’s access to other Iron Man titles they might not be ready for yet, the parental control system on Disney+ should make this task more manageable.
The exciting series “Iron Man with His Remarkable Pals” is currently available for streaming on Disney+, with fresh episodes being released daily this week. Following that, episodes will be aired on August 22nd, September 5th, September 12th, and September 29th, all falling on Fridays. Meanwhile, you can also catch “Spider-Man and His Incredible Friends” streaming on Disney+.
