Based on a recent update, it looks like we’ll have to wait quite some time for the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 3. This isn’t surprising news given that previous leaks and this latest one suggest Insomniac Games is currently working on both a new Venom game and Marvel’s Wolverine. If Spider-Man 3 is indeed in development, it seems to be only in the preliminary stages at this point.
The 2023 leak, which gave us a peek into Insomniac Games’ release schedule extending into the 2030s and hinted at several upcoming games, had initially suggested that Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 would be out in 2027. However, this new report claims it won’t hit shelves until 2029.
It’s clear that something has disrupted Insomniac Games’ plans due to either the 2023 leak or development problems with multiple projects. Originally, they were planning to release Marvel’s Venom in 2025 and Marvel’s Wolverine in 2026, but neither have materialized so far, suggesting delays for both. Given these developments, it wouldn’t be unexpected if Spider-Man 3, initially slated for a 2027 release, is no longer tied to that date.
Regarding the recent report, it originates from a YouTube channel known as The Maggshow. Given that this source lacks a verified track record, it’s advisable to approach the information with some skepticism since there’s no prior evidence to support its accuracy.
The report doesn’t reveal much other than the potential release date in 2029 for Marvel’s Spider-Man 3, hinting that it might be exclusive to PS6. However, a dual release on both PS5 and PS6 isn’t necessarily off the table. If this timeline holds true, the gap between Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 and its predecessor, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, would be a year longer than the gap that existed between Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and the original game from 2018.

Currently, neither Insomniac Games nor its parent company, Sony (PlayStation), have made any comments regarding this recent report. It’s unlikely that this will change, but if it does, we’ll certainly keep you informed. In the meantime, please share your thoughts with us: Should Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 be exclusive to PS6 or a cross-generational release? As always, your opinions matter!
