Okay, so it’s looking like the next Spider-Man game – *Marvel’s Spider-Man 3* – might include a Spider-Man from the Spider-Verse movies! Insomniac Games has been super quiet since releasing *Marvel’s Spider-Man 2* last fall, and honestly, it’s been a tough time for them. They got hit with a huge hack that leaked a ton of their future plans – things like a new X-Men game and a Venom game, plus more Spider-Man stuff. Right now, officially, we only know they’re working on *Marvel’s Wolverine*, and it *seems* like *Spider-Man 3* is happening too, based on what some of the voice actors have said. But details are still pretty scarce on both games.
Fans are expecting a new trailer for *Marvel’s Wolverine* to be released shortly. The game was first announced four years ago, and we haven’t seen any updates – like trailers or screenshots – since then. It seems the announcement came very early in the game’s development, and a proper reveal is likely coming soon. *Marvel’s Wolverine* is currently considered Insomniac Games’ main focus, though there are also hints of other projects in the works.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 Will Reportedly Feature Spider-Man 2099

MP1st, a gaming website known for accurate leaks, reports that Insomniac Games plans to include Miguel O’Hara, also known as Spider-Man 2099, in a future game. While a Venom game is still reportedly in development, MP1st doesn’t believe Spider-Man 2099 will appear in it.
Instead, many believe we’re more likely to see this advanced Spider-Man in *Marvel’s Spider-Man 3*. It’s unclear what part he would play, though, as the games haven’t heavily featured alternate universes. He might appear in a smaller, optional quest, especially since Silk is also anticipated to be in *Marvel’s Spider-Man 3*, hinted at by the ending of the previous game.
The second *Marvel’s Spider-Man* game featured a side quest connecting to Sony’s animated *Spider-Verse* films, but it didn’t lead to much. There’s a chance this storyline will be picked up in the next game, and that Miguel from the animated universe might appear. However, it’s best to be skeptical of this rumor. While the source, MP1st, is usually trustworthy, information can be inaccurate, and Insomniac Games could still decide to remove Miguel’s role from *Marvel’s Spider-Man 3* before the game is released.
Miguel O’Hara, also known as Spider-Man 2099, isn’t new to video games. He played a major role in both Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions and Spider-Man: Edge of Time. His popularity has grown thanks to the Spider-Verse films, and he’s slated to appear as a villain in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, coming in 2027.
