Marvel’s Wolverine Actor Has Worked on It “For Almost As Long As My Son Has Been Alive”

Insomniac Games has set a September 15th release date for their new Marvel action-adventure game, Marvel’s Wolverine. This is roughly two years after the game was first announced in September 2021, though development likely began even earlier.

Liam J McIntyre, the voice actor for James “Logan” Howlett, shared on Twitter that he’s been working on a project for almost as long as his son has been alive, and he’s excited it’s almost finished. While that’s a significant amount of time, it only reflects Howlett’s contribution, and the overall planning and development likely started even earlier.

Considering this, it seems Insomniac Games was developing plans for Marvel’s Wolverine alongside Ratchet & Clank and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Given the information revealed in the 2023 leak, it’s not entirely unexpected that they have several projects underway.

Despite delays, Marvel’s Wolverine is still generating a lot of excitement, particularly after the first look at gameplay. The game tells a brand new story, following Logan as he travels to places like Madripoor and Tokyo in an effort to regain his lost memories. He’ll face enemies like the Reavers and Sentinels, and will be sporting his classic yellow suit while battling them.

Even though Insomniac didn’t appear in the recent State of Play presentation, they’ll be sharing more information this spring, so keep an eye out for updates!
