Players will finally be able to play as Wolverine and use his adamantium claws then. However, it won’t be the only major game launching that month – another big action-adventure title is also expected around the same time, which could create some competition.

Both games launching in September 2026 are only available on PlayStation 5 and use Unreal Engine 5 for stunning graphics. While this might excite Sony fans, it unfortunately creates a difficult choice between two great titles, as the audience is limited. Like Wolverine, players will engage in intense, hack-and-slash battles against numerous enemies, experiencing smooth and dynamic combat throughout the game.

Phantom Blade Zero is an action-adventure game with gameplay reminiscent of the Devil May Cry series. Players explore a mysterious world filled with secrets and can choose from 30 different “Phantom Blade” weapons to customize their combat experience. The game combines elements of folk horror and classic fantasy to create a compelling and rewarding world to explore, alongside its exciting action sequences.

Phantom Blade Zero’s Hack-and-Slash Action Has Some Similarities To Wolverine’s Brutality

While we haven’t seen much gameplay footage of Marvel’s Wolverine yet, the initial trailer gives us a glimpse of how combat will work. Battles are more engaging thanks to detailed moves and a wider range of combat options. Defeating enemies is especially satisfying with dramatic finishing moves, and you’ll be able to test your abilities against many foes, including challenging bosses and large groups of enemies. The game doesn’t hold back on giving you plenty of weapons, techniques, and skills to master.

As a fan, what really excites me about both Phantom Blade Zero and Marvel’s Wolverine is how incredibly detailed the combat looks.
