Marvel’s Wolverine will be released on PlayStation 5 on September 15th. You can still add the game to your wishlist, but the price hasn’t been announced yet. Considering the cost of recent big-budget games like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, it’s likely to cost around $69.99.
This action-packed story centers on James “Logan” Howlett as he tries to regain his lost memories. But powerful groups and enemies – like the Reavers, Sentinels, and Omega Red – are determined to stop him. Adding to the complexity, the shapeshifting Mystique appears to be pursuing her own hidden agenda.
Unlike the Spider-Man games, Marvel’s Wolverine seems to follow a more straightforward story path. It’s also much more violent, letting players brutally take down enemies with Wolverine’s Adamantium Claws – dismembering limbs or even stabbing them directly. Throughout the game, Logan will travel to places like Madripoor, Tokyo, and Canada in an effort to recover his lost memories.
We still have questions, but Insomniac Games plans to share more information this spring. A dedicated State of Play presentation would be a likely place to learn more, so keep an eye out for updates.
This fall, PlayStation 5 owners will be able to play Marvel’s Wolverine, and the game is also designed to work with the new PS5 Pro. Alongside Wolverine, PlayStation is releasing another big single-player game this year called Saros from Housemarque, which comes out on April 30th.
