It’s another day ending in “Y,” and Insomniac Games has confirmed – really, truly this time – that they’ll share more information about Marvel’s Wolverine this spring. In a nice touch, when one fan asked about pre-orders on Twitter, the studio gave a helpful and polite reply.
“We want to show you more of the game first.”
Although Marvel’s Wolverine is already set to release on September 15th for PlayStation 5, placing it before the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 in November, the game’s price hasn’t been revealed yet. However, most likely, it will cost around $69.99, consistent with Insomniac’s previous releases.
I’m thinking the reason we haven’t seen pre-orders open up yet might be because of the Deluxe Edition. They’re probably holding back some cool, exclusive costumes for Wolverine – they want to make a big reveal, but also reassure us that there’s still plenty to unlock just by playing the game. There could be other perks too, gameplay stuff they haven’t told us about yet.
If Housemarque’s Saros gets its own presentation next month before its April 30th release, we might see more details about Marvel’s Wolverine from Insomniac in May. Alternatively, they could simply release a new gameplay trailer and start pre-orders during the Summer Game Fest in June. Keep an eye out for future announcements, and you can find more information about actor Liam J McIntyre’s involvement here.
