I have Greek parents, and as a kid, I constantly asked my mom to make the same meals my friends had. She’s a fantastic cook, but dishes like meatballs and baked pasta just didn’t excite me back then!

I first truly discovered how good British food could be thanks to Hamlyn’s All Colour Cook Book. As Mary Berry explained in the book’s introduction, she knew home cooks would especially love the full-color pictures accompanying each recipe.

I first discovered my passion for cooking at age ten when I tried making Mary Berry’s lasagne and brownies – though my mum wasn’t too impressed! Dame Mary herself always wanted to inspire others to love cooking as much as she does, and for me, she definitely succeeded.

My kids absolutely love these brownies, especially after they’ve enjoyed some keftedes. However, with our editor currently unavailable, things are getting really hectic! The next clue to finding him is hidden in this week’s magazine issue – please locate him before the children ask for fish fingers…
