Masked Singer’s Pangolin Revealed as Singer With Iconic Fight Anthem

Pangolin’s fight for The Masked Singer crown has officially come to an end.

During the semi-finals of the fourteenth season of the Fox singing competition on March 25th, the celebrity hidden inside the adorable animal costume was unmasked and eliminated from the show.

The singer revealed to be behind the mask was Rachel Platten, best known for her hit song “Fight Song”.

Prior to getting sent home, the 44-year-old teased viewers with some clues about her true identity.

In a video, Pangolin fondly remembered her Nana as her best friend. She described how her Nana proudly shared news about her, even making others read clippings like, ‘Did you hear my granddaughter is nominated for an Emmy?’ Pangolin said her Nana was spirited, humorous, and incredibly kind.

The singer shared that she still feels the loss of her grandmother every day, even years after her passing. However, she believes her grandmother’s strength and determination continue to inspire her and her own kids.

She confessed that becoming a mother was incredibly difficult. But remembering her grandmother, Nana, and imagining Nana saying, ‘You can do this, Sweetheart,’ always gave her strength and helped her cope.

Pangolin finished by saying that a competitive spirit is a family trait, and it’s currently motivating her to succeed. She’s determined to fight her way to the final round, as she was raised to be a winner, and she hopes to instill that same winning attitude in others.

Even though Pangolin gave a great performance of Roxette’s “It Must Have Been Love,” they received the fewest votes and were eliminated just before the season 14 finale. Before leaving, they shared two last clues about their identity.

The first reveal was a connection to judge Ken Jeong. As Pangolin hinted, “This person and I have worked together on camera. It’s Ken!”

After displaying a pair of gold boxing gloves, Pangolin explained that he prefers to be strong during challenges, particularly when they really matter. He added that this entire experience felt like a major accomplishment for him.

Rita Ora guessed Vanessa Carlton, while Ken Jeong thought it was Lea Michele. Robin Thicke went with Michelle Branch, but Jenny McCarthy was the only judge who correctly identified singer Sara Bareilles, who was performing in a pangolin costume.

Now that Platten has been eliminated, the final four contestants – Cat Witch (secretly revealed to the audience as actress Kylie Cantrall), Galaxy Girl, Crane, and Pugcasso – will compete in next week’s finale. The big question is: who will take home the win?

Find out when the season 14 finale of The Masked Singer airs Wednesday, Apr. 1, at 8 p.m. on Fox.
