The MasterChef finale was a big dill in more ways than one.

Jessica Bosworth and Jesse Rosenwald, the winners of season 15 of Gordon Ramsay’s reality show, surprised fans with another happy announcement on September 17th: they got engaged!

Jesse and Jessica, the winning couple from “Dynamic Duos” who are self-taught cooks, celebrated their victory with friends and family at Revere, a Boston restaurant, according to Boston 25 News. Immediately after being named the winners on the show, Jesse proposed to Jessica in front of everyone gathered to support them.

Jessica was surprised by the proposal, but she’d been more focused on not revealing they’d won until the official announcement on *MasterChef*.

She said it felt strange keeping the news a secret for almost nine months.

Jesse also recalled how it actually felt in the moment when they won together.

He explained that when they won, they were completely stunned for about five to ten seconds. He said it’s a common reaction – you hear a name called and immediately wonder if it was actually yours.

Jessica only recalls scanning the crowd for Jesse’s face during the excitement of their victory.

I remember a burst of joy, like fireworks,” she said. “I just focused on his huge smile, and everything else around me faded away.

The couple also unlocked their dynamic as a duo during the course of the MasterChef competition.

Jesse explained that his partner is the creative force behind their dishes, handling all the design and presentation. He sees himself as the one who executes her vision, happily taking direction and making things happen – that’s just how their partnership works.

The couple, who began dating nine years ago after meeting while working as bartenders, are planning to open a restaurant together in Boston named 10 Inches South Shore Bar Pizza.

Jesse shared, ‘This project is something we’re truly excited about. We’re happy with our current jobs and grateful for the stability they provide, but we also have a dream of building something of our own and sharing our food with others.’
