The BBC has confirmed the newest judge to join the line-up for MasterChef: The Professionals.
In the newly announced show, scheduled for broadcast on both BBC One and BBC iPlayer, the roles of the main hosts are currently held by established judges Marcus Wareing and Monica Galetti.
Today on the Saturday Kitchen, it has been confirmed that Matt Tebbutt, the show’s very own host, will be joining them.
Apart from his stint on Saturday Kitchen, Tebbutt also has an extensive background in the restaurant world, having authored multiple cookbooks and regularly contributing articles about food and travel to various publications.
Upon starting the show for its 18th season, Tebbutt expressed his gratitude by saying, “It’s truly a privilege to collaborate with these culinary giants of our world. Their expertise and unyielding spirit have become legendary, and I eagerly anticipate learning from them. I can’t wait to see the chefs excel in the competition under their guidance.
Marcus Wareing expressed his enthusiasm about Matt Tebbutt joining them, stating that “It’s truly exciting for Matt to join our team. Watching the talents of our contestants unfold and savoring their delicious dishes is always a pleasure – Marcus and I are eagerly anticipating welcoming Matt to the MasterChef set and finding our next winner.
Monica Galetti was equally thrilled: “It’s truly exciting to have Matt join us. Watching our contestants demonstrate their skills and sampling their delicious dishes is always a pleasure, and Marcus and I can’t wait to welcome Matt to the MasterChef studios and find our next winner.

Tebbutt kick-started his culinary journey by working at several distinguished eateries, including the Oak Room and Criterion under Marco Pierre White, Chez Bruce, Alastair Little, among others.
During the early stages of his career, Tebbutt gained experience cooking at top-tier restaurants such as the Oak Room and Criterion (under Marco Pierre White), Chez Bruce, and Alastair Little.
I’ve had the pleasure of writing not one, not two, but three exceptional cookbooks that cater to different tastes: “Cooks Country: Modern British Rural Cooking,” “Matt Tebbutt’s Guilty Pleasures,” and “Matt Tebbutt’s Pub Food.” These books are a testament to my passion for culinary delights.
The making of this program coincided with a stormy phase for the primary MasterChef broadcast, where both hosts were dismissed due to separate incidents of personal controversy.
The broadcast date for season 18 of MasterChef: The Professionals, created by Shine TV, has not been announced yet.
